We cannot recommend JWB Architectâ s and Lockridge Construction enough. They very graciously took our very difficult project after everyone else turned us down. We are beyond happy with the result. I know with JWB and Lockridge that the job has been done properly, as John W., John F., and all their associates were able to communicate exactly what was being done, when, and why. The communication was unmatched. I will miss their updates! In addition to excellent communication, the job was done in a timely manner even with COVID as a factor they still pushed through. All the subs they hired for the job were kind and hardworking. I have only positive things to say about JWB Architectâ s and Lockridge Construction. I will happily use them again in the future, and we are beyond thankful we found JWB and Lockridge, they are both upstanding companies with outstanding people! We highly recommend using this dynamic, hardworking design + build duo!

Our project consists of raising the ceiling height on our home and also adding almost 1,000SF. I am happy to have found Mitch with JWB architect on this website. Mitch was very clear about his process and was always very responsive when we had questions. We had a very clear idea of what we wanted to achieve for some areas of the project and he managed to work through the challenges to make it happen and he offered good creative guidance on the areas where we did not have a clear idea of how we wanted to lay things out.  We got minor comments through permitting but Mitch and his team worked through them quickly to keep us moving. We are now starting construction and are hoping the fact that JWB's owner is also the owner of a construction company will mean the plans will be easy for our contractors to follow.Â

BUYER BEWARE! When looking for an architect, stay away from JWB architects. We were referred to JWB to provide architectural drawings for an outdoor kitchen and patio project. Their workmanship was wrought with errors that are still being addressed and are costing us thousands of dollars to rectify. Response times, except for sending invoices and asking for payment, were slow requiring multiple calls and e-mails prior to receiving a response. Deadlines were regularly missed and when the product was provided, there were mistakes. There was absolutely NO creativity in designs provided in spite of us providing multiple examples of the look and feel we were trying to achieve. Finally, their fees were approximately double of what we subsequently have learned it the âgoing rateâ for similar projects. If there were negative numbers in the rating scale, that would be our rating.

In regards to your comments, we provided you with a design concept and drawings you were fond of, however, your Homeowners Association would not approve the modern design you preferred. We spent several weeks, providing you and your HOA with various edited drawings to comply with both your needs and the rules of your HOA. We can understand your frustration with the project since you brought in a new builder, who could not fully understand how to complete the project even after designs were submitted and approved by you, by your HOA and by Orange County. Regardless of all the change requests, we continued to provide you with support and consideration beyond our contract to help the new builder bring this design to life without request for additional compensation. From the start of our participation in this project, communication remained constant between the original general contractor, our company and yourself. Again, while we can understand your frustration with the project and the many required revisions due to several road blocks along the way, we provided you with service above and beyond the scope of work complete with site visits and financial considerations. We do wish you all the best and hope you enjoy your new outdoor summer kitchen."

We couldn't be happier with our architect Mitch Powers of JWB. He took the time to learn who we are as a family and helped us define realistic objectives to create a design that fit the way we live. He communicated with us and with the builder every step of the way. Because we were expanding our home, there were design and site challenges which he expertly navigated. I enjoyed working with Mitch, he was very helpful and always available to talk to. However, I was on a strict budget and time line and we are going to be over budget by $15,000 and it took over four months to receive final plans, for a very small project. Updated review, Mitch has worked with me closely on this project and has been available to correct issues and help with contractor questions. He has always responded to text, email and phone quickly. He has convinced my with his dedication to upgrade my review. He represents JWB in a positive way.
