We didnâ t see some of the negative reviews about this company until it was already too late. Please take this warning, donâ t do it. This was our first time hiring a contractor, and we made it very clear in our discussions with Jay that we were looking for someone we could trust. I think he saw how naive we were. Before we signed the contract, he said things like â I want to be your contractor for lifeâ and â I need the workâ . That last statement should have been the red flag that made us walk away. I really liked Jayâ s creativity and problem solving when we were discussing scope of work and trusted him. We signed a contract for JW to do a basement remodel which included adding a bathroom and remodeling our upstairs bathroom and they started the Monday after Thanksgiving. When we signed we were told everything would be done by the time my mom came for Christmas on December 19th. We initially were having a good experience. People were coming daily, Deb was in contact with us for our product selections and we could see progress being made. I was not checking the work daily, which I now regret. Baltimore had a snow storm around January 15th and thatâ s when things changed. Aside from someone not coming due to family emergencies, and illness once or twice, people were coming regularly. Since January 15th I think weâ ve had maybe 5 days worth of people coming in a 30 day time frame. We made some changes to the layout of the bathroom, and have asked for additions like a niche in the wall, adding basement windows, etc, so we tried to be understanding and flexible because they were accommodating to the additions and changes we wanted. After two weeks of no one showing up and not being told why we lost our patience. We asked for phone calls to discuss our concerns and never received one. I have sent two emails that have gone unanswered. I have sent multiple texts communicating our frustrations and asking for: an updated timeline, to be notified of scheduling, explanations for why the project is now 2 months over the time frame we were given. The only explanation I have received is â cash flow is our issues right now Iâ m doing other work for contractors to try to keep my guys busy which doesnâ t pay much money because of the funding JW does not have right now, so this is why weâ ve asked you guys to buy the materials because we can get the work done so if we have to purchase all the material then itâ s a matter of us getting back in there and being able to get the material and pay the guys to do the workâ . I then sent multiple messages with concerns about the fact that a wall is crooked, which has made the tiling on the floor look awful, baseboards are detaching from the walls, some of the drywall has water damage on itâ ¦no response. We approached this project knowing you can never have affordable, quality, and fast work and being ready to make compromises. Youâ ll see in other reviews that they state how seriously they take the quality of their work, I hope thatâ s true and they make things right. I decided to go ahead and post this review now since they arenâ t responding to our messages. Hopefully this will get their attention. Iâ ll continue to update until the project is completed.

This company is by far one of the worst ones that I have had the displeasure of dealing with. They are completely unprofessional, inconsiderate, and selfish. When they initially installed my bay window, they completely messed the roof up, causing a constant leak that damaged my floor, ceiling, and blinds. After being contacted multiple times, all they did was send a contractor to fix the ceiling without even attempting to understand why the roof was leaking. After a while, they completely stopped answering my emails and phone calls. It came to the point where I had to call an entirely different company so that they could fix the leak that this company caused. The new company was surprised at how horribly the job was done, informing me that everything that they could have done wrong, they did. Overall, this company is a mess: their management lacks basic communication skills, and their contractors have no idea what they are doing. Whatever you do PLEASE find a different company if you do not want to deal with what I went through.

JW Cornerstone Remodelers super dependable Company Does top notch work and great to work with. We used JW Cornerstone to replace a water damaged kitchen cabinet . Job required extensive disassembly. They showed up on time,worked hard,cleaned up and completed the project quickly as scheduled. We highly recommend this company.

Would NEVER use this company again and certainly not recommend it! Came out, did a quote, and 3 times the project manager came out after for measurements and lied to my face. . Weeks of excuses and delays, and continuous lies. Then I was, told the day before installation the quote was wrong and that I owed 2k more if I wanted the job done AFTER I had other contractors on board for the remainder of the project. No communication at all with the sub-contractors that did the actual work, they were amazing and even told me JW ripped me off and they would have done the same job for 1/2 the price. JW sent their people for the final part of the project, not only did they do a horrible finish, they are on my cameras using the leftover material I paid for to make their projects. Called and requested the owner to contact me 4 times, but did not have the decency or professionalism to call me back. Worst experience ever!! The only saving grace was the contractors they hired out, thank god I did t have the work their finishers left me with the whole project. I now have to pay to fix their issues and would rather have my old kitchen back.

My experience with JW Cornerstone was such a pleasant experience. I knew they were a great company from the moment I had my initial walkthrough and free estimate with Jay. You can tell he is a hard worker that really cares about his work and his employees. Jay knew my budget and found ways to make my vision come true without sacrificing quality. Jay had amazing ideas and his team executed them flawlessly within a very reasonable price. He actually listened to me and my ideas and choices unlike some of the other contractors that gave me estimates much higher who were very pushy. I felt no pressure throughout my entire home remodel process. The guys are all very nice and professional and on time, they were very thorough and cared about the quality of their work. Especially Tom! Tom is an exceptionally hard worker that went above and beyond all my expectations every time he took on a new project in my home. My project Coordinator Debbie also made the entire process seamless. She was always a phone call or a text away for any question or problem that I had. No matter how much I called or texted she always treated me with courtesy and respect and alleviated any and ALL of my anxiety about this huge project. I knew everyday my home was in good hands. JW Cornerstone Remodelers touched every single room in my home except for one, including a full bathroom remodel and the work was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Especially the bathroom, the tile is immaculate. I look forward to enjoying the beautiful work they did for many years to come. They deserve nothing less than 5 stars and I will most certainly be a returning customer for all future projects.

Let me start by saying, like most people I'm not a big reviewer. I will carve out time to do reviews only when I feel a company has gone above and beyond in customer satisfaction, or on the other hand I feel like it's my duty to warn potential customers of poor service. JW Cornerstone has been a breathe of fresh air when it comes to under promising and over delivering. During the pandemic, my husband and I decided to take on the MAJOR project of renovating our entire home after a disappointing new home search. We went into the project full aware of the countless horror stories of "Reno Projects Gone Wrong", but we felt like we had no choice. After a hard decision, we decided to go with JW Cornerstone. I'm pleased to report that the 7 month remodeling project has more than exceeded our expectations! The project stayed on budget and we were so pleased with the quality of work and professionalism, that we kept adding more and more projects. I can't say enough about working with Jay and Debbie the project manager. Debbie stayed in constant communication during the whole project and was such a big help with many of the room design choices. No request, change, or question was ever a bother. Debbie met me at several design centers just to make sure that I would be happy with my selections. The prices JW Cornerstone charge for their services are more than fair and competitive in the marketplace. To sum up this review, JW Cornerstone became family during this whole process. I am highly recommending them to all of my family and friends. I am a traditional business owner and I plan on having JW Cornerstone do renovations at our salon in the near future. If you're thinking about using them for a remodeling project, DO IT! If you're here about to write a negative review on this company, give them a chance to right the wrong. JW Cornerstone are truly caring people who take pride in customer service and excellence. Trust me I know. We had another company come out to do a one day window job, (we signed this contract before we knew JW Cornerstone did windows), and they were the worse! JW Cornerstone had to fix what they messed up! I can't even begin to describe the night and day difference between the two companies. My husband and I were just so thankful that the other company only did our windows, and not the entire remodeling project! We're still dealing with that window company on some unresolved issues. They did an entire makeover of my home, bedroom, kitchen, dining hall, and painting. They did what they promised and stuck to the schedule of the project. We are pleased with the results. We liked that they are dependable contractors, unlike many others in this industry. We have no issues for the past two years after the renovation. We give an A+ rating for their professionalism, sensitivity to our needs, desire, and hard work to complete the job well on time and within budget.

From the initial meeting to the result, everything went so smoothly that we are amazed by their fantastic remodeling services. The whole team took extra pains to ensure quality and preference. They are punctual, courteous, tidy, and took away all our stress of renovating our home within budget and on time. They are specialists in tailor-built remodeling projects. The creativity of designers and work done by the crew together gave us an excellent piece of architecture. We are in love with the design of our new deck and porch area. My mother always dreamt of her own home with a customized spacious area for the living room, a modern kitchen, and three-bedroom sets. Her dream has turned into reality by the staff of JW Cornerstone. They used good quality construction materials and worked with full dedication to provide nothing but the best. Our abode design and style reflect our personality, and we are more than delighted with their incredible performance. We highly recommend them for getting the custom-built homes in Maryland.

Will is really a great guy

I recently contracted JW Cornerstone Remodelers to remodel my brother's bathroom. Due to an above the knee leg amputation, his bath tub needed to be converted into a roll in shower. During the initial assessment, Jay (the owner) explained exactly what needed to be done for the shower conversion. He also asked about the existing sink, because it was not ADA compliant. When I discovered Jay was open to doing more than the shower and understood exactly what was needed, I asked him about creating a wheel chair entry from the bedroom to the bathroom. He said it wouldn't be a problem and explained the needed measurements to make the new doorway wheel chair accessible. Jay and his team were able to remodel the bathroom to make it completely ADA compliant. The shower area is complete with a fold down / up bench, beautiful flooring and wall tile, modern grab bars and over the toilet cabinetry (which replaced the under the sink cabinet). What initially was to become a roll in shower, became a beautiful, total ADA compliant bathroom â complete with fresh paint and new hardware. The other contractors I interviewed were limited to only converting the bath into a shower. JW Cornerstone Remodelers far exceeded our expectations. They wanted to please us, but above and beyond our satisfaction, they wanted to make sure the bathroom was safe for my brother. The remodel ended on time and on budget. The bathroom is a real show piece and everything Jay said he was going to do, he did. I highly recommend JW Cornerstone Remodelers as a company that will produce a high quality end product while operating with the highest level of integrity.

Overall great service... quality, professional, skilled work that was reasonable and beautifully done. Great custom service as well. All around 5 star. Highly recommend this company.

Although it was a smaller job, they did quality work and made sure every detail me my expectations. I plan to use them for future bathroom and basement remodel.

Excellent company to work with. I had my deck replaced and a concrete patio put in. Very very meticulous and precise with their work. They do not cut corners, perfectionists and get the job done. The workers are very polite and nice to talk with. Very honest owners. Unlike other contractors that will see a small issue and turn it into a big issue for their own profit, Jay was very up front and projected honesty from the initial consult. Going to use them for any remodeling needs I have in the future and referring to everybody! Great job JW Cornerstone Remodelers!

Prices are reasonable with excellent work , personable , reliable, on time, and professional.

Everything is positive with them. They have done our kitchen and bath a couple years ago and we are now having them do 2 baths remodels and a deck. Very happy overall with the entire crew. Clean, great communications, on schedule and budget.
