Courteous, on time, took the time to explain what he thought the problem was and that there may more to the repair than what meets the eye. Too many consumers do not realize that once you take something apart or dig into a wall other problems become more apparent.

Bathroom - Remodel
I contracted Jim to remodel my bathroom, livingroom and diningroom. The work was to take 3 weeks then 4 weeks due to the changes I made. They started on 8/8/2016 and it is not completed. The workers: showed up at various times only to work 1 hour then leave, did not use plastic to block off construction area as agreed until I complained about the drywall dust. The bathroom: tile installed incorrectly...no grout lines, wrong window installed...no frosted glass, electrical outlets installed too low for vanity. The house exterior where large window was replaced with smaller one is bare plywood...did not re-side. Drywall installed without electrical or plumbing inspection. Later found out no permits pulled. When confronted...the next day Jim had his crew steal the remaining tile (over $1000) while I was not home. He refused to return the tile unless I paid him more money stating he did not trust me. I had already paid him $8200 which included the cost of the tile ($1819). The livingroom/diningroom: ceiling & wall cracks repair very sloppy. I have done better work. I request no nails in window seat replacement that I bought myself so that wood be of quality for staining...many nail holes. Window seat replaced before wall repaired therefore creating a crevice on each side. Damaged original oak window trim and discarded before I was able to inspect it. He tried to replace with cheaper wood before I insisted on oak. With all of this not sure if plumbing or electrical is correct...I trusted him to do it correctly. Remember no permit...no inspection. I will have to hire another contractor to complete the work and reorder tile. I had set up an appointment with Jim to resolve these issues and possibly complete the job...he did not show up. I have since attempted several calls...he has not responded. I am a single mom trying to prepare her home for retirement. This was suppose to be my dream bathroom but it has become a nightmare. I have to travel to my mother's home to take showers. My daughter and her newborn have to stay elsewhere due to the inconvenience. I have consulted with an attorney.

Bathroom - Remodel
We hired them in july. It is October and still not done. We spent $15,000 and it looks like we did it ourselves. We now have to hire a new contractor to fix most of our bathroom. Paint job was awful, granite top on our sink is uneven, shower doors don't work, vent fan is blowing in to our attic ( not code) was told it was blowing to the outside. Didn't replace all the light switch plates. Wall that was built is uneven. Mr. Haun promised to do a punch list but never came back after he got his last check. Was promised over and over and over would fix these things and never showed. I would never hire this company or recommend anyone too hire them. Tons of emails and texts of promises. Luckily I keeped them.

A wet wall behind our bathtub prompted a remodel. Thanks to Mr. Haun's experience in the business, he was able to determine the cause of the problem, and make the necessary repairs. Broken/clogged perimeter drains pooled rain water behind the house and it seeped up the wall. So the project included digging up and replacing perimeter drains. Mr. Haun was also willing to work within my income resources and allowed me to save on the total expense by doing my own demo and then tile/paint and trim. His professionals were more than patient with me. My bathroom is now updated, fresh and DRY. Thank you Haun Construction !

Water Heater Installation and Replacement

Jim was very pleasant on the phone and was able to get the tank installed the day after we spoke. There was a dent in the first one, so he left and brought another one without dents. They were very friendly and worked clean and efficiently. I told them I had to be somewhere at a certain time and they made sure they were done prior to that.

Water Heater Installation and Replacement
$800
I paid for a new Rheem hot water tank. They installed a used & damaged off brand name water tank - charging me $800, the price quoted for the new Rheem. The tank had dents and rust on it. The top seals were burned and melted. There was no manual or box. I called the owner and he said he was out of town and would take care of it after the holiday weekend. After finding more issues with the tank and trying to reach the owner, he was not responsive to further texts and phone calls (full voicemail). I stopped payment on the check because I did not feel this issue was going to be resolved. I had the hot water tank replaced using another company and JW Haun sent someone to pick up the old one and returned my check. Furthermore, the tank was not installed properly and was unsafe based on the professional opinion of the new installer. The new installer did an excellent job - a sharp contrast to the patched job JW Haun did.
