Jw's Custom painting

Choosing to work with JWs Custom Painting and Alan has proved to be one of the most disappointing and upsetting decisions we have ever made. We were excited to get our kitchen remodeled and almost $5000 later we are left with shoddy tilework, paint overspray on our walls, chips in our countertops, and massive amounts of glue on countertops, back splash and floor tiles which we are now spending days trying to remove. This guy is always broke and will keep asking you for an advance so he can get supplies, or ask if you can pick up supplies for him, which you do because your kitchen is torn apart and you want him to finish the job. He does not show up when he says he will. Our job started on a Monday and we were told it would be done by that Friday. He would give us a start time of 8 a.m., and after waiting all day and trying to call and text him, he would show up at 2 p.m. or later. He would say he had to go pick up something for our job and then be gone for hours. Two weeks after he started, we were still trying to get the work done, and he was also having to tear out and redo areas that he tried to pass off as complete until we called them out as completely unacceptable. He used rough, unsanded and split wood pieces to frame the back of our peninsula, then painted the rough, split wood as if it was finished. He over-sprayed the cabinets and had to repaint our kitchen walls and ceiling. The grout lines in our back splash are crooked and not sealed, you can literally chip the grout away with your fingernail. The back splash tiles are uneven. He used thick globs of caulk to fill in areas where tile should have been cut to fit in the space. I purchased some trim pieces for him to fix the area with the thick caulk, and he tried to install the trim over the globs of caulk rather than clean the caulk away first. So now they are all uneven and you can still see the messy caulk above them. We were still trying to work with him, 3 weeks in, hoping he would fix all the problems, but then he started making excuses as to why he could not make it to our house. So, we have decided we have tortured ourselves enough and told Alan not to bother coming back. We probably need to hire another company to come out and fix all of his mistakes.
