Jackstraw Inc, are the experts when it comes to residential tree trimming and removal. We have built our reputation on honor, quality work, responsiveness, and attention to detail. The record snow fall for the winter of 2010 has caused wide spread damage to white pines, leyland cypress, arbor vita, juniper and many smaller foundation shrubs. Pruning restoration is one of our specialties. Don't be in too much of a hurry to cut them down. We know how to restore most of these damaged trees and shrubs to be well recovered in one growing season. Our regular customers had very little tree or shrub damage because they trusted us to "storm proof" and "lower the sails" by reducing weight and wind resistandce in an artful way. The estimate and advice are free of charge. My house was hit by an 80 foot oak tree on 2 March 18 around noon. I called Bob Applebaum around 1:30pm and he had an emergency crew at my house within an hour. I can't say enough about how responsive JackStraw was and how professionally they handled a very messy situation. They came back the next morning and finished cutting up the tree and removing it from the house. Enrique was a champion! I have used JackStraw before and I would highly recommend them in any situation for your tree needs.

Pull up two hollies and apply soil amendment to the front left lot line and the front beds. Plant ground covers: phlox, periwinkle and plumbago, in the front beds at right and left of the front door, along front left lot line and around crape mrytles trees. Install flagstone walkway Plant Install dwarf Alberta spruce and landscaping. Cut back the climbing rose at the left of the front door and transplant to a new location. Transplant Japanese holly from the right of the front door to the front left lot line. Transplant bulbs at the right and left of the front door to go around the two crape myrtle trees in the front yard. Install five firepower nandinas to be planted to the right of the front door.

Excellent people to work with and they know what they are doing. I had a large job done and it went great. They helped me preserve my trees and probably saved my house. From the estimate through the rigging and cutting to the cleanup, you can see that they are professional and care about doing it right. They transformed my outdoor space!

We had a tree removed as well as pruning of 2 trees. The estimate was less than other quotes we received. The service was exceptional. The crew arrived on time., did excellent work, and cleaned up well before leaving. We would certainily use them again.

After a string of bad experiences, Jackstraw restored my hope. From the owner of the company to the team lead to the guy who swept up the branches at project's end, everyone was pleasant to deal with and focused on the task at hand. The owner was very patient as he answered my questions, and presented options and suggestions. Since project completion, he has taken additional time to offer suggestions about what to do with the rest of my yard - I feel more educated. He even suggested options that I could implement myself. Thanks to the team lead and his staff for making my yard look awesome!

The communication was a bit choppy or my project. The service was OK. The cost was below what the other contractors proposed, but it was still too much for a small project. JackStraw is a small company, and they will try their best to earn a business. I'd recommend you take an estimate for your landscaping projects from JackStraw.

JackStraw was GREAT! The crew came on time, were very efficient, did a BEAUTIFUL job pruning and trimming 3 large trees around my house, and cleaned up everything. They paid attention to detail and took the time to answer my questions. They trimmed large branches away from the roof while maintaining the tree's beautiful shape, instead simply hacking it back (like I've had done in the past). The price was comparable or LOWER than my other estimates. I would highly recommend JackStraw - they know what they are doing!
