Jake was very knowledgeable .Very efficient and very liable, he also worked.with my budget. I would definitely recommend them for any upgrades to your home.

Jake comes across as a nice guy, but at the end, he is extremely unreliable and does not have the professional skills for remodeling. The job was estimated to just take 3 weeks but instead took MONTHS. I had to pursue them daily, and wade through their millions of excuses and many missed appointments without warning, before they finally finished the work. I am sure the only reason he came back at all is because I finally agreed to pay more than he had estimated. If that was not bad enough I discovered multiple instances where, without permission, he took and used tools from my garage; sometimes even getting my tools mixed in with his own. I believe I have all my tools back but this behavior was wildly unprofessional. Plus, finished is not really a fair description for the work they did. There are still aspects of the work that just are not up to par (poor finish work) and I doubt I will be able to get him to actually fulfill the job with the right level of quality. He promised a 10 year warranty but that is just hot air. Caulking they installed has failed just a few months later and they have not fulfilled their warranty at all. I tried to be understanding, patient, and support a small business, but this man betrayed me and no one else should trust him to do a professional job.

1. First, I will say Jake and his girlfriend, Jen are nice people. Clark, his Foreman, is a gem. My new hardwood floors look great, my carpeting was done well, the bathroom install is ok. BUT? Nothing is completely finished. My storage area is not what I asked for and is basically unusable at this point. Sanding, painting, baseboards, shelving and final touches are incomplete. 2. Communication is very difficult. If Jake gets back to you, he is frequently full of excuses and lies about when he will show up. Many personal issues were the main excuse. And I get that. Jake even had his girlfriend and her Mom come out and sand shelving for a couple of days to make up for delays, but overall, a business deal is a business deal and backup plans should always be in place. 3. Jake hired out non- professionals who have done a sub-par job refinishing my storage space. So poor is the work, Clark had to redo all of the work they did. If it were not for him, I would be in a much worse place. 4. Jake rarely shows up, then seems surprised at how little has been done. 5. The project was supposed take 6-8 weeks. I asked for a couple of big changes and there were delays in shipment. Another month should have been plenty of time, but still, 8 months later, the work is not done. I finally had to give a two week notice to finish things. He showed up on the final day, did 2 projects, cleaned up his stuff and left. 6. I have never received drawings initially requested. Although we talked through things on multiple occasions, instructions seem to have been forgotten, so I often got what he had in his head, not necessarily what we discussed. 7. Billing was done very haphazardly. Jake does not know how to use his billing equipment and preferred to scribble out a bill on a scrap paper. He could not keep straight what I had paid for. In conclusion, In all good faith, I cannot recommend JNS Construction. I wanted to give a small, local company work because we were just coming out of Covid and I knew how hard it was for the ?Mom and Pop? businesses to keep afloat. Angi recommended him and there are decent reviews. Unfortunately, I will never trust Angi reviews again and I will stay with the larger, reliable companies in the future.

Jake and his crew members were very knowledgeable and well manored. Jake went above and beyond to meet my budget and timing. I would definitely recommend this company for all your home improvement needs.

Work was done on schedule and we had complications with sending/ receiving payment, but, otherwise, I do recommend them.

Jake is knowledgeable and willing to work with the customer, for the quality desired for a given project, with a sincere interest in ensuring the customer is happy.

He is extremely down to earth, very understanding, and for the most part when you explain something to him he knows exactly what you are talking about before you even finish what you are saying. He has good ideas on how to fix problems in ways that benefit the customer.
