Janelle Paint and Landscaping

I hired Ross and his team to paint the exterior of my home. At first they were great. Polite, hardworking, and communicative. But the job took longer than expected- no problem, I understand these things happen. He asked for payment prior to the job being complete because we were going out of town, and said the job would be done that day- it did not happen but still, I understood. I even verified the check when he cashed it at republicash the same day, despite the job not being complete. Finally, several days later they wrapped up but left my house without saying goodbye or doing a walk around the house. The next day I noticed the house was all streaky! I contacted Ross via text, and asked him about it politely, even thanking him for his hard work. He ignored my text, I tried again. I sent pictures. No response. Ross and I had been communicating via text regularly throughout the process so I knew he was receiving them. More than that, they spilled a large amount of paint twice on my lawn/patio, spattered the driveway, knocked over a little stone wall, and left three bags of trash on my lawn. So now...my house looks awful, he has already been paid, and apparently, I am a complete fool who has been taken for a ride.

He did not do a good job. He doesn't seem to communicate well. Texting me he is coming on a certain day, and does not show up. Then a few days later will text he got busy would such and such a day work. When I replied yes. He still did not show up. He also texted me a change in his estimate of the job. From $4800. down to $4400. Which I agreed to. Most of the fence panels are uneven. He said it was due to the slope of the land. Which is fine I get that, the slope is very minimal, he did not even try to dig down to make them all in a straight line at the top. He forgot the gate that I asked for. He was in the process of installing some chain link and a gate for another area of the yard. He was having trouble cutting the chain link and said he would have to come back the next day with the proper cutters. He did ask to be paid. I talked to him about the uneven panels and he told me that is how it is done without having to dig down to set them. He left the chain-link gate as is and never returned. I have a fenced-in yard which is nice except for the unevenness, but No gate. My gut tells me he won't be returning. He also left his trash and scattered pieces of wood. We had discussed this chain-link opening during his estimate, which he said was fine. He had also offered to fix the neighbor's fence posts in places where it was leaning. That was not done either. Day 2 or 3 he came and asked for money for the concrete. He had misjudged the amount. On the last day, he asked for me to split the cost of the concrete. I said I wanted to stay with the estimate he gave me and he said ok. Seeing as the panels were not level, the gate was not done, and the dog bubbles were not installed. Plus again, I had a feeling he wouldn't return If he does return and finish this project, I will be more than happy to give him another review. Jan in Auburn, ME

Ross was so great! He really went the extra mile to make sure everything looked perfect. Very thorough, and great communication. We will for sure be hiring him for more work in the future!

The project involved having to open the ceilings in the downstairs part of our home in order to correct upstairs heating issues. A fair estimate of materials and time costs was presented, but once opened up the work needed was more extensive than thought. After plumbing work was completed, sheetrock was put back up. There were 6 rooms and a hallway that were worked on. Mudding and sanding was completed, but estimated hours were not correct. Ross Janelle worked with me to come up with a fair cost, which amounted to what I had planned for. I hired Ross to also complete the painting of ceilings and color match the walls. Very pleased with the final results.

The crew is great! Courteous, friendly. A few items were left unfinished like scraping paint from some of the glass windows. We felt like the job was underestimated a bit and rushed toward the end. When foreman was approached with a concern, it was handled professionally. Overall, good job!

Owner has strong work ethic and works until the project is done right. He researches the best solution to problems and his fees are reasonable.

Prompt, easy to reach, reasonably priced.

Ross is a super nice guy and follows up on his word. He did a great job on both the landscaping and painting of my home.

He did really well, along with his prices. Customer service is what hooks ya!
