Carport (Wood) Building Service
James (Jarco owner) is very knowledgeable and experienced in construction and in working with the county. His knowledge was critical in the approval process for my large 25 ft span carport which meant no headaches for me. He is very good at communicating with the customer and taking customer concerns/questions seriously. I appreciate his benchmark/payment structure that incentivizes progress. The work progressed at a good pace, although some bad weather held up a subcontractor later in the project. He interfaced with the engineers appropriately which resulted in an upgrade from the initial design (at no additional cost). My carport has been complimented by several people for its appearance and construction, including a framer (who did not work on it) and a home inspector. I can definitely recommend Jarco.

We could count on him to do exactly what he said he’d do. His communication with us was excellent! We are very pleased with the work he did.

Deck or Porch
update 4-5-19..Poor quality, takes a long time to do anything. My intent is to hire other contractors to finish what he started. I would stay away from They will tell you that the project will be finished in 2 - 3 months. My deck has already taken 5, and nowhere near finish. They will pull every trick in the book and lie to justify. The only thing they do on time harasses you when it comes time to pay for the next stage. Get someone else, even if it is more expensive
Response from Jarco Builders, Inc.
"Mr. Rafael B, The project we did for you was in Knoxville, Tn. not San Antonio, TX. We are very sorry you feel dissatisfied. As you know the length of the project was caused by the unprecedented amount of rainy days we had this 2018/2019 fall and winter. We couldnt even get the footers dug for 1 entire month due to the rain. You also know that the only reason you are trying to get someone to finish the project; which consist of a 3'x3' concrete pad at the bottom of the stairs, replacement of 4 bricks chipped out to properly install new deck to existing structure and a few blocks above plates, is your attempt to over charge us for the $200.00 worth of work (which is far less than you owe us) because you couldnt afford the Beaded ceiling you had us remove from the original proposal. The structure we provided you is of excellent quality and has even brought us business from other clients viewing it. It is also 100% according to contract (which you had us revise and reduce 3 times to fit your budget). I am also very sorry you feel we harassed you for draws. Our contract plainly states when each draw is due. We do not ask for 40-50% up front: our draws are based on project milestones. We never asked for a draw before is was due and I distinctly remember having to wait for 2 wks. for one draw and you requiring us to do extra work outside of our draw schedule. Most of all I am sorry you feel you were lied to. I dont feel like we were lying to you when we said someone would be out to work on the project and then it would rain for 3-4 days in a row. But if you feel we are liars all I can do is once again apologize. Never the less, let me say once again we are sorry you are dissatisfied with the way the project went. I really wish you the best in the future."

Sunroom or Patio Enclosure Building Service
Took a couple of weeks, due to rain every other day, but kept me up to date as to when they would be out to work on the job. Cleaned up everything after the job was done.

Deck or Porch
James did great work on our porch. When a subcontractor installed the screen doors, poorly, james came out himself, and fixed the problem.

Addition to Existing Structure Building Service
Top notch work, very responsive- remodeled my house and were very communicative. Their prices were not the lowest but also not the highest and I feel that I really got an amazing value for my dollar with no problems whatsoever.

Sunroom or Patio Enclosure Building Service
I hired James Welch Jr. of Jarco. I've had many good compliments on the inside of my addition/sunroom; however, Welch was not easy to communicate with, had to tell him about bad workmanship, but got better. The inside looks nice as I have gotten a lot of compliments on how nice it is, although, he told me he would bring me a remote for the ceiling fan which is so high up w/a vaulted ceiling. Welch took way to long to finish the work, almost four months. He never finished the job on the outside. NO PORCH OR STEP.

"Mr. P wanted to repair his roof without a contract. I was unwilling to do so because he didn't want to pay for the roof until I finished the whole project. The roof needed to be replaced immediately; thus, I did all the foot work necessary to get the roof completed and the insurance money in his hand. The addition is taking a little longer than expected due to the terrible storms that damaged thousands of homes in the Knoxville area. I understand Mr. P wants his addition done but should I ignore the people who have roofs that are leaking. Mr. P wanted and got his roof done immediately. I only get paid according to contra"
