Jason did excellent timely, effective and efficient work. The newly surfaced floors are gaining raves from the few I have shown in the first days after the work I will hire again if I expand the use of hardwood floors in this older home.

Floors are old and had been covered for a long time. Jason came and explained what he could do and did it exactly as stated. Some areas needed patched and are flawless....cannot find unless you know where to look. Job well done, great value, couldn't be happier with the outcome. Already scheduled more work with him.

After giving us our estimate we found and issue with the lack of flooring where we took up old carpeting. He made another trip to our house to help my husband figure out what needed to be done. Appreciated his giving us his time. Jason was unable to come on the day we had agreed on. He let us know immediately and came the next day. There was a small issue with our project but he came the next day after we called him and corrected it. Our floor looks great! Very good customer service and communication.

Jason was very quick to respond to my request for a contractor. He came out immediately to quote the project, and sent me the written quote via email that same day. We tried to get another quote from a different company, but they took a week to get back to me, then after the guy finally came he never sent me the written quote. So we hired Jason. He was prompt, did what he said he would do, and finished when he said he would. There was a small area on the floor that didn't look quite right and he came back and fixed it within a week. He gave us 2 quotes (one if we paid cash--I assume he didn't want to pay tax??) which was weird but his price (even with the tax added in) seemed fair and was less than the other company's. If I have a complaint it's that his clean-up wasn't perfect. He cleaned up the visible dust but there was significant dust left underneath the cabinets that he didn't address.
Response from Jason Brew
"Thank you so much for your comment Alison. I charge differently for check because of being stiffed once years ago and cash I know I am being paid. I am a proud tax paying American ?"

First off, Jason was nice, prompt and professional in demure. The issues were centered around his work, and as someone who has been doing it for as long as he has and with the reviews on here, I was surprised, however, I think many people don't know any better. The only reason I knew of the issues, for the most part, was that my husband has been in the industry for a long time. Due to time constraints he couldn't do the job himself. The biggest issue was Jason required that I have the air conditioning on set to 68 degrees WITH the windows wide open while he was sanding, which is a big no-no! The dust went all through our duct work, which is a #1 rule that you don't do this when sanding that will produce dust. The vents, which were brand new, were filled with dust and needed to be cleaned,. We also had to replace the furnace filter months before usual. He also should have skimmed the whole floor to fill in holes, but instead, he did it by hand and missed many holes/dents. We asked him to buy, stain, and install wood transitions into the two rooms that didn't have hardwood. As a "carpenter" as his page suggests, he cut the transition strips to be up against the shoe-mold which created a gap; this looked terrible. He should know that you need to cut the shoe-mold into the transition and not the other way around. He did agree to not charge us for it and gave us polyurethane to use when we made our own. Lastly, after the job was complete, he left a bag of garbage on my tree-lawn, the day after garbage day. He didn't ask if he should put it there or in our garbage can. Apparently, he put food in there, so the next morning, something had eaten through it and there was fast food litter all over the tree lawn.
Response from Jason Brew
"-first I do ask customers to open the windows to help vent out the polyurethane fumes, however I only do that after I sand because it would be pointless to do while during the sanding process. Many other customers can confirm that once I apply the polyurethane is when I open windows. - shortly into beginning sanding (approximately an hour into) Mrs. Sacco asked if I could tape up the vents. I do now t usually do this for most of my machines catch their own dust but was happy to oblige. This however would not allow dust to get into the ventilation system -as for the holes (because professional know wood filler doesn't fill in dents) there is a method of filling a whole floor with wood filler. I along with the many other professionals I have talked with over the twelve years I have done this have agreed it is not a good way to fill holes because floors expand and contract throughout a year from acclimation thus this would leave crumbles I between any boards that the filler was in because wood filler doesn't not expand and contract like wood. - if I did not charge for a service because they did not like the way that I was doing it then the service wasn't never performed and should not be discussed. Especially since I was nice enough to leave polyurethane for the customer to do the transitions as they wanted. Furthermore I ate the cost of the transition piece. -lastly when done working I put my garbage either in a can or on the side of the road (since it weighs usually 100+ pounds from sawdust) if Mrs. Sacco knew her trash had just gotten picked up you would think that you would put it in your can."
