Lawn Care Maintenance and Mowing
I had a very disappointing experience with Jasons Outdoor Services. I requested a quote in mid-March, selected him in early April and confirmed in late April that he would start the work. By the end of May, he never started and did not respond to numerous texts and phone calls. Finally, I got a message back that cutting the lawn would be too hard and he was backing out, even though he originally quoted the work. I think anyone using HomeAdvisor should be very cautious about his 5-star ratings because it was not my experience at all. He might have too much work and is not going to provide concern or attention to any particular home and will not honor a contract. Any project that has any complexity, it seems he will back out. And the communication and responsive particularly in the Spring is awful. I also have to question the HomeAdvisor system for ratings, as this experience suggests that there is some way that these trades can game the system in presenting ratings....this is the second time something like this has happened. It might be best to simply search through the internet then to overly rely on these ratings.

"Nick, I am sorry we were unable to satisfy your needs. In March we met, I performed an estimate and submitted quotes to you within a few days. You had selected to go with just lawn mowing, however we were unable to meet the request as our equipment would not have safely fit in some of the areas on your property. We attempted to use our 36-inch mower there, but we found that it would cause more harm to your landscape to attempt a mow given the landscape beds in between the road and your lawn. Regarding the communication, I had emailed you the following day about this situation. In your comment you state you never did receive the email. It?s always important to check junk and spam folders when expecting communication from a third party. We have clients that have been with us for years, and they still find an email from us in the spam folder. Also regarding your concerns with our office phones, our records show you contacted us over Memorial Day weekend. In our voicemail it states that the office was closed, and we would reply to messages first thing Tuesday morning, which was indeed done. Our team is fully capable of handling complex landscaping jobs, and many of our residential and commercial accounts are greatly satisfied with our work. Again, we are very sorry we were unable to meet your lawn care needs. Our best interest lies within the satisfaction of the customer and the beauty of your lawn. In our expert opinion we would not have been able to properly take care of your lawn with the equipment we use. I hope you are able to find a company that will meet your needs. I hired Jason back in to the Spring to do some Lawn Mowing for me for the season. I Live in Bloomfield hills with about an Acre of property. He Charged about $30 (After season plan discount) It seemed was fair compared to other companies in the past who charged about $28. He Edged the driveway almost every week it seemed like and everything was done great! One week when it seemed to rain almost everyday he came out and went over the grass TWICE since it was so long and did not charge anything extra which i thought was pretty cool. He noted to me once that I should trim my boxwoods and I gave him the go ahead. He trimmed the perfectly to what i liked. Later in the year around July I needed mulch done and he gave me a fabulous price for 16 yards of mulch. Took the time and made sure not to crush any plants like some companies have done in the past. Loved the color he picked out and the thickness of it. I later had him plant a few more flowers and plants for me and seamed to do a fair job. I did not hire him for snow since I have had a great snow guy for many years. I will defiantly hire him again for this summer. -GT
