Stay away! I hired Josh to power wash and stain my home. He is dishonest and unreliable, not showing up in the contractual time frame. So I tried to help him by hiring him. Once the job started, he acted unprofessionally. He does not know what he is doing. and subsequently caused damage that he expected me to pay for. He kept trying to get more money as he needed to buy equipment to do the job, then later said that when he is done, he will return the equipment and get a refund. He failed to finish the job, not coming back until I informed him that he was in breach of contract. He then wanted more money toward the balance owed once he came back. When I told him I was not going to give him anything more until he finished the job, and I was not going to pay for more equipment rental (I had already rented equipment for 1 week, which he failed to use in a timely manner), he said to his wife that they needed to get out of here. He abandoned the job, failing to finish it. He also abandoned the lift that he had rented, stiffing both me and the rental company that he got the lift from, telling the owner that he was not going to pay for it and to get the money from me. The only positive review he has here, coincidentally, is from Kristen J, which just happens to be the name of the lady he married. Once again, STAY AWAY FROM HIM! He is a liar.

Mr. Garrod started a project for us weeks ago. He was to install a new railing on our porch. He failed to measure properly and installed a railing higher than agreed upon. Then the inserts were too short. He said he needed to order different inserts- that was weeks ago. Joshua Garrod is not returning our calls. My husband was nice enough to write him an additional check for new parts. So basically he has our money and we do not have a railing!

I feel like my kindness was taken advantage of. This contractor mentioned that he had just gotten out of drug rehab. I tried to give him a shot! He was getting married and trying to start fresh. (I even gave them $100 for a wedding gift!) I paid him $7,750. He hit my barn, stated that the barn is not salvageable, tore up my yard, and left. He will not return phone calls. He agreed to a partial payment (the rest to be paid at a later date) He was a no-call, no-show. A mediator is now involved.

Must get a formal quote for the project to confirm what charges will be covered. Verbal communication was not clear which caused additional charges that were not expected. Also, I will need to complete the final trim work without additional charges being incurred.

JG is Respectful, courteous, honest and did a beautiful job on building my deck! Would highly recommend!

Mr. Garrod is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about his work and what needed to be done. I would hire him again!
