Jim Williams Renovations & Roofing

We hired Jim in the summer of 2023 to lay our new flooringâ ¦ Several months ago we noticed it was buckling and had a manufacturing representative come to inspect it and they said a moisture barrier was not put underneath the floor when they installed it. He refuses to honor the warranty, look at it and says itâ s not his problem. Before realizing they installed the floor wrong, we hired them to do a lot of texture work and remodelâ ¦ He brought in an inexperienced texture guy to begin. The project went from four weeks to six months. He will lie and forget conversations he had with you and just tells you what you want to hear at the time Horrible experience

I doubt youâ ll find a better team to do your remodel than Jim Williams Renovation. We had our master bath and walk-through closet completely remodeled and they did a fantastic job. Jim and his team are professional and responsive. They really listen to what you want and offer suggestions to make things better. We couldnâ t be happier with the results or the service.

Jim went above and beyond expectation. He did everything I asked for and stuff I added on later, such as extra recessed lighting, that was not in the contract originally. He was very responsive and answered all my questions, even some very basic ones I had, about the different elements involved in the project. It was also nice that he didnâ t use a lot of subcontractors. So I got familiar with Jimâ s guys, who were also very helpfully with questions. In fact one of the guys helped with a small fix on my kitchen sink even though the renovation was in the master bathroom. Also, I very much appreciated that Jim was willing to do the work himself instead of just overseeing others. When one of his people got sick, he stepped in to keep the renovation going. They also did a good job of keeping the place clean at the end of the day. I will definitely use him going forward.

Do not use or trust Jim Williams!!! He does not fulfill his own set deadlines. He does not communicate with customers or his staff and will straight up lie to your face. He will waste your money like ripping out all of our door frames and trim and installing exact duplicates of the old trim and telling us thats what we told him to do. And he will waste your time like letting our house sit empty for 2 wks refusing to send a single sub to your house until his mud guy completed his work despite endless unrelated tasks needing to be completed. We hired Jim and his team back in January to remodel our home because Jim seemed like an honorable guy and talked a lot about following through on his commitments and keeping his word. My wife and I were really impressed with him and felt really comfortable with him working on our home. So back in Jan of 2021 Jim told us that if we moved out of our house to give them space to work they would be done in 6 weeks or maybe 7 weeks but that would be if someone got COVID and they had to shut down the worksite to quarantine. So in response we moved into a friend of a friends mobile home that wasn't in use to give him and his guys room to tackle the job quick. Jim said the winter was really slow and we were his only job so his crew would be focused on our house. We left on Feb 5th and Jim and his crew started working at our place on the 8th. On Feb 11th we met with Jim's window guy to replace all of our windows and paid Jim a large amount to cover the costs of the custom windows (which we still havent received or even seen an invoice from the window company for as of April 26th). Later in Feb we met with Jim's cabinet maker who was very nice and walked through the house and helped us choose cabinets for our home. His cabinet guy promised to have all of the cabinets completed in 2-3 weeks. Like the windows, we also have no cabinets (as of April 26th). Last week I told Jim to forget it that I would build my own cabinets because we found the cabinet maker's shop and discovered that he had not even started yet. Jim also personally (witnessed by neighbors) bashed into our new brick retaining wall with his trailer and failed to fix or even mention it to us. Jim and his crew left our home unlocked several times after when they left for the evening and one time even left all of the windows and the front door wide open. Jim admitted during framing of a new wall that the guy was drunk that installed it and that is why it was so far out of square. On week 6 we still had no sheet rock, no kitchen, or bathrooms. Same on week 7 and 8, but after week 8 we could not stay in the mobile home any longer so we had to move into hotels. Jim always has an excuse and will promise that he'll be done in and just another week. just to deliver the same promise a week later. So for 5 additional weeks we booked another week at a hotel or different AirBNB in hopes that Jim would infact have 5 guys working at our house full time as he wouldd promise, but in reality 1-4 would show and many times only work a half-day to be pulled by Jim to one of his 4 other jobs we learned he picked up despite promising ours was his focus. During this time he would refuse to take my phone calls and would send me fake messages during business hours letting me know that I should call back during normal business hours. On wk 12, I had enough and Jim told me that he would have our house 95% complete within 2 wks, only to have our house sit empty for three more days. My wife asked to meet him to review what could be done so we could return home into some sort of living conditions.

Jim Williams Renovations did very low-quality work on our home. Not only low quality, but they stretched out a small project, which was only supposed to take 1 month, to more than 3 months, and never finished the work. Williams argued about the quality of work on everything asked about. We were told many things had been corrected, and they were not. Jim Williams installed electric hot water, as part of the project, and hot water did not work through the project because it was wired incorrectly. We were living in the house and did not have hot water the entire time. Williams was aware of this but refused to ever take care of the issue, we had to hire a plumber to redo his work. The hot and cold water faucets were switched in the shower that they installed, Jim Williams tried to leave it in that condition until we finally made him correct it. To get paid a draw Williams agreed to finish the last few items on our project by a certain date and did not. He did not mean what he agreed to because he had not even ordered the flooring until 3 days before the deadline. We were also delayed on the delivery of the countertops for a month because the company was waiting for Williams to pay for the countertop first. Jim Williams was a nightmare to deal with and never even attempted to address punch list items. We are still trying to correct/finish the work we paid him to do. All he ever wanted was to be paid ahead of schedule and then we had to chase him to do the careless work they finally did. I would not recommend Mr. Williams or his company to anyone for any type of work. I cannot imagine anyone recommending him.

They do great work. Removed my old roof and replace with our new roof all in one day. Great job on the clean up. The guys were very respectful and kind. Great experience! Doing even more work for us now!

Jim was very easy to work with. His guys always cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. We are very satisfied with out bathroom remodel and will use him again in the future.

Jim Williams was a man of his word, throughout our renovation. While working around the challenges surrounding my disabled son, my personal commitments to others, and even the weather, everything was handled professionally and courteously by Jim and his entire crew. He always kept me informed of timelines, crews showing up when, duration of time in the house, all with an ear towards our needs. He finished in good time and with excellent workmanship on all fronts! I will be using him on all my future projects, and would highly recommend him to anyone.

I highly recommend this company. Jim is very communicative regarding schedules (I have several things going at once and pets I need to move) and the quality is much better than I expected. I had a fireplace removed and he sent a cleaning person to clean the floor on his own so he is very conscientious about every aspect of of the job. Anyone who uses this company will be pleased with the results. 5 stars all the way around.

Mr. Williams is dependable, professional,trustworthy and should be on everyones list of contractors to call. Can't say enough about this gentleman and his crew. THANK YOU JIM!
