"We inform all customers of a destination/visual diagnostic fee. The referenced diagnostic cost was to cover our time to analyze an error code with proper equipment and technical support. We spoke with the customers and explained this, but they were steadfast in their opinion. Ultimately, due to the misunderstanding, we apologized, agreed to disagree, and left without any charge to the customer."
"$69.50 is to perform a visual diagnostic. We found a more involved diagnostic was needed. The $453 charge was to thoroughly clean the unit, test components and any minor repairs. The manufacturer recommends yearly maintenance to keep a warranty valid and for the best operation. The customer declined our diagnostic and agreed only to the maintenance. We don't charge by the hour."
"The price was $195.76. Our technician was working for just over 1 hour at her home and with the travel time we had over 11/2 hours invested in her repair. The only other work recommended was a preventative maintenance agreement and that was only an option, not to mention it would have saved her an additional $22.00."
