Imagine not only having a poor job done by this business but having people stop at my house because Adam took their money to never be heard from again. I beg to question any 5-star reviews.

Adam and his helper repaired the floor of our front porch. He and his helper left our front yard a mess until I finally cleaned it up myself so no one would trip. I had also given him a deposit in March, and after months of trying to get in touch with him to get a start date, I finally reached him. It took almost 2 more weeks to get my money back in September. In the meantime, he left living in our neighborhood leaving me stressed to the max. Please be aware of these issues as he promises good communication when hired. Luckily I had kept records of contracts, payments, etc in case. I needed them for small claims court.

We hired Adam to enlarge our master bedroom and add a laundry room to the same space. The 8-week project was at 22 weeks when we hired another contractor to finish the work, The project started off great, Adam would touch base with us just about every morning to discuss what work was expected and go over any question either of us had. hen he stopped answering text and phone calls, If by chance you did reach him he would promise that subs were scheduled or materials would be delivered and it did not happen when expected. Most days the worker did not know what he was working on. We never knew what subs were showing up or what work was being done. Luckily my husband is retired so he was home to give them access to the home. Building materials are not picked up from the job site in a timely manner. We had to drop off personal items at his home that he left at our property. Paid an extra $1000.00 for a used slider, (quote had a window ) he tried to convince me it was a bargain because it was an expensive floor model, it is dirty and has water damage on it. (he did not even provide the lock, we had to find this on our own) . materials not ordered ahead of time and a lot of downtime waiting for subs or materials. Not all subs paid on time. Last rain storm our new roof to the new addition started leaking. We went on the new roof and the pitch is incorrect, we have standing water on the flat roof, we are now going to have to pay a roofer to fix the problem. We have not had a final permit inspection yet, not sure if the roof will pass. I do not usually write reviews good or bad but the final straw was the leaking roof. I cannot recommend using him.

Project was supposed to start in July and end August and we are now 8 weeks past that. .Agreed to a timeline and price agreed to a pric agreed that everything would be permitted and inspected. Communication problems at the stare and also had to wait 24 days for him to complete a shower. Now the contractor unresponsive for a week.

Poor experience in my opinion. Some highlights: -the project took 8 weeks after being told it was a 3-4 week job -difficult to reach, we never knew when work was actually going to be done on any given day. -Generally, poor communication, nonresponsive to texts, calls, talking past each other, and circular conversations. -poor grout work had to place sticky notes all over after repeatedly asking them to correct gaps and holes -grout began to come off immediately upon completion -Despite repeated conversations, placed light switch in incorrect location (literally right where the mirror was going to go) causing rework. Mind-blowing error to make really, as any layperson would have foreseen this issue as it was happening in real-time. -left cigarette butts all over outside of our home -sink pipe immediately began to leak after completion -toilet began to leak out the base 4 months after completion -tub faucet was left extremely loose, did not discover until after completion -spilled grout all over the driveway was told they would powerwash, never came back to do it. -left a 55-gallon trash container filled with construction waste. They did not come and pick it up despite repeated requests to do so. I ended up managing removing it on my own. I found empty beer cans and mini booze containers inside.

Did a great and clean work. Happy with end results.

Adam's pricing VERY competitive with other contractors and we were VERY happy with the quality of the work. We had upgrades done in our home to prepare for a sale (new flooring, granite install, painting...). He went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied--and we were! We already know who to call if we have any work needed in our new home.

We had a major kitchen remodel. 100 percent kitchen remodel including removal of a support wall to our living room to create a very open concept. Added a 20 foot beam for support. Added all new Cabinets, new stainless appliances including a wine fridge under a 2x6 buffet area. Added 4x8 island with Quartz. Solid wood floors added. Quartz countertops. Glass backsplash wth a herringbone design behind the range. New ceilings with recessed lights. All appliances installed, painting, crown molding throughout. New windows and 6 doors with trim added. Johnston Renovations was very professional and used a great crew. The Johnston team did everything we asked for and did not deviate from the contracted price. The work completed exceeded our expectations. Customer service rated only 4.5 stars because of communication that you see with all contractors. Better communication on workdays, hours times etc. would have rated 5 stars across the board. We plan to use Johnston Renovations for additional improvements in my home.

Adam Johnston was extremely trustworthy and bent over backwards to make sue everything was done right and that I could afford to pay for all the work
