The work was done well

Excellent work, professional service and timely response.

This was a custom entertainment center project. Prints developed by JW were good and I prepaid $150 for these. Total project proposal $3,700. I paid 50% down in March 2008. As of this note, I have filed a complaint with the District Justice as I have not recieved the product, or refund. A refund was promised by JW but not delivered. I gave JW 7 months to complete a 2 month project. JW had personal problems including a divorce and alleged injury. I was patient and sympathetic to his situation. But, JW took advantage of my kindness and simply fell off the face of the Earth. No custom center and no refund.

Matthew Johnston has a beautiful portfolio, and gave me a decent estimate. I supplied him with a $500 deposit about a year ago, but he has not returned my calls and has not performed any of the work. He also still has a large piece of molding from my dining room. Obviously, I'm very disappointed. I would like to be able to change this review, but at this point I can only recommend that ServiceMagic terminate referrals to this business.

Mr. Johnson was highly professional, accommodating, and highly skilled. A true craftsman, he was happy to suggest appropriate solutions to suit the project to the site, a picket fence over difficult terrain. His work met all our expectations: providing a closed-space for our dog, additional privacy for the yard, and a satisfying addition to our landscape. Furthermore, he completed the project within its proposed budget, despite several emendations that we requested. Throughout, he was both efficient and personable. We look forward to hiring him again for other projects at our home.

Matthew Johnston installed an older mantelpiece in my home and he did the work himself. He is a true craftsman and was as concerned about having everything done properly as we were. He was punctual, honest, friendly, tidy, and I will definitely have him back for other projects.

The above ratings are required, but don't you think its all meaningless when the job won't be done for another 10 days, or so? Thus far, I am very impressed with him, as he was reliable & a pleasure to talk to.........but I won't see the job done on my furniture yet.

Mr. Johnston was very helpful in helping us realize our project consisting of architectural baseboard heater covers and new millwork. We plan on using him in the future in order to do some custom kitchen furniture in our own home as well. Thanks Matt!
