Please be warned. This contractor is not to be trusted and will try to rip you off.

I hired them because of their recommendations on the site and endorsement of this site. My experience could not be further from the confidence that these recommendations infer. I picked MDO despite being the highest price because I expected a high-quality job. Jonathan the owner assured me it would be so. So I went to Hadinger and picked out the flooring and tiles. When the flooring arrived in turned out that I had 50% more than needed. Somehow the measurements were off and the needed supplies for the door jams and quarter rounds were not ordered at all. Delay #1. When the team arrived they were not dressed professionally and their van and equipment were shabby. They started the job by putting up a dust barrier which turned out to be ineffective and fell down. Delay #2 The house was coated with dust within hours. After finishing the demolition and part of the lanai, I overheard them speaking in Spanish that they were not going to finish the job as they had another job that would pay better. I asked them did not they work for MDO. They said they did not that they were contractors working for them the first time. I let Jonathan know and he was surprised that they were quitting. Delay #3 He said this was not how he worked confirming that they really did not work for him. It took him three weeks more to find someone else to finish the job. Delay #4 Turns out he was a contractor too. He finished the job sloppily and I ended up doing some of the work to get the quarter rounds in and get the details better. They are still not right. Delay #5 It is now 6 months later and the floor is starting to crack and come loose. I called and emailed Jonathan for a week but I have not heard from him in the last two. I let him know the problem and gave him a chance to fix it. Delay #6 Nothing. Now I am in some service protocol with home advisors to get it fixed. I hate writing bad reviews but feel it is important that others are not conned and scammed like I was. You have been warned.

Make sure the person installing tile has installed it before. I suspect I was the Alpha test in bathroom remodeling. I also suspect the two professionals had an enjoyable extended lunch hour or two with Mary Jane. Now I get to use a poorly functioning linear drain in my shower clean it out every week so it does notback up. At least one guy (Henry) came back to make it drain after the install, so it would stop pooling. The tile is not flush with the wall and the grout is crumbly. The owner called to check on the job once and then I never heard from him again. I see good reviews by others so maybe it is just the clowns that did my bathroom remodel. A responsible business would have checked back in to make sure everything was complete.

They were on time for the estimate and to do the work. He sent the estimate when he said he would. The whole crew was very polite an willing to fix the few things I found on the final walkthru.

Jonathan and his team were exceptional and easy to work with. They not only gave us what we wanted but also added so much joy to our home.

MDO Brother Builder did such a beautiful remodel in our property. I highly recommend them for any of your home remodel needs. !!

He stuck to his word and came through with what he promised. It was finished on time and on budget. He kept me informed the whole way!
