Jones Construction

This guy is a fraud. He never finished the job. What he did do was garbage. He left for vacation and never came back. I had to call the police dept and BBB to file a report on him. He still owes me $1K.

Would have been nice if he would have stuck to his word and finished the work.

I hired him to repair a sheet and a half of drywall; match the ceiling pattern; hang a new ceiling fan with light; hang and wire a new light over a bar area; paint the ceiling; and put in a drop downstairs for the attic. The first day he came to start work his two workers with him were kids. He left them there while he went to another jobsite with no supervision. They clearly did not know what they were doing. That all had to be taken down and redone. The pattern on the ceiling is far from matching like he promised he could come close... which it isn't. The new ceiling fan and light looks horrible. You can see the hole he cut in the drywall and he put shims up there. It looks absolutely terrible. Then the new light he put up and wired over the bar area would not shut off. They made a horrible mess and got paint on everything in the house. He claimed that the stairs for the attic wouldn't work and for me to take them back. So I hired someone else to come in today to fix the light over the bar area. He said there was a hot wire sticking out and the light was wired direct. That hot wire could have burnt the house down. Also, he put the stairs to the attic in without a problem. JONES CONSTRUCTION (Mike Jones) DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. He talks a good talk (which I wish I had recorded) but he clearly has very little knowledge of what he was doing. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANY JOB. I wouldn't hire him to build me a dog house.
