Jud Tile, LTD.

Excellent! This is our second experience with Jud Tile and once again we are very pleased with the outcome. They were very helpful and patient in guiding us in the design and materials selection process to realize our objectives. In addition, the installation process follows industry standards and best practices.

The electrical work wasn't installed up to code and presented a clear danger. I alerted them to the problem and they took responsibility, maintained communication, and then fixed the problem three months later. Initially, they were going to send out one of their own workers until I asked if they were licensed. It took some coercing but they did to hire a licensed electrician. The total fix was over $2000, but they did pay for it. <br /> <br /> I also had an issue with the water dispenser in my refrigerator which they ignored. The overall workmanship was fine, but plumbing and electrical was not.

It was excellent. The design work and attention to detail were both excellent. Their work was meticulous and the did not rush.

This was a purchase of tile for the main bathroom (second of three bathrooms that needed complete reno). I am very fussy - want tile made in the U.S., want a certain look, and don't want beige. That makes it hard to find tile in my price range. Jud had a line that no one else in the area carries - McIntyre. I went over to look and found something I really liked. Overall the price was OK but the decorative pieces were super-expensive. We decided to take the plunge. <br /> FYI, they have a nice selection; none of it is inexpensive.  <br /> We worked with Holly who was extremely nice and patient but I didn't have confidence that she really knew much about tile. As with the other high-end store we'd worked with for our downstairs bath, I ended up doing all the calculations myself. Very nerve-wracking when you are talking about custom tile and thousands of dollars.  <br /> Like the other high-end place, they charge for delivery which I find to be super-chintzy.  <br /> We did have one small problem (not Jud's fault) and Holly very promptly tried to resolve it for us but it turned out that the manufacturer doesn't make the kind of corner piece we needed. Also, our contractor was worried that the decorative pieces should not be used on the floor (big panic!) and Holly was able to get the answer from the manufacturer within a couple of hours.  <br /> All's well that end's well - the tile is gorgeous and our contractor was able to come up with a very creative solution for the two corner pieces. <br />

It went excellently. They are local Vienna Company; we live in Vienna so that is nice. They work with the homeowner and they work well with the resources a homeowner has in the plan that you want to do. My husband and I liked about is that we could pick out our own fixtures, we didn’t have to use whatever they wanted, and so we had control over picking up the mirror and all those things that you put in a bathroom and they find the people to install it. So they gave us control in terms of the quality, style and look. They had a tile store and they had a wonderful collection of all different kinds of tiles at different price points. Their contractors or actual workers they used were high quality and we felt safe leaving them in the house for work. Especially their tile guy did amazing work. In terms of precision and quality they were very good. they had other ideas like reconfiguring our bathrooms and when we said we can’t afford to do that, they didn’t mind and came up with a new plan that was at the cost. So they worked well with us in that regard.

We had to replace a shower stall in our master bath do to a poor job done by another company nine years before.  We went to Jud tile and they helped us find new tile that would fit in well with the rest of the bathroom which we did not want to replace.  After getting installation prices from other contractors we decided to have Jud do the work themselves even though they were a little more expensive.  The job went fairly well although there was some mistakes in the ordering of the custom bullnose and they showed up with the wrong metal trim.  We also had to bring the installer back twice because he missed a couple of small places with the grout. Overall, we were happy with the end result especially with the frameless shower door. <br />

We were very happy with them. They did a great job. Everything looks really nice. We called Jud and he’s on time. He’s checking everything and writing down every detail. They are wonderful company. They cleaned up perfectly. They’re on time and honest. Maybe the price was a little high. We were thinking of checking other companies before we decide to go with them because of the price. The other companies came late. Jud Tile was always there and we knew them before. We decided to do with them.

The project manager, Penny Jones was really on top of everything. She was out to my house every other day to check on the project. She was outstanding. If it hadn’t been for her, we probably would have quit halfway through the project. The problem was their employees were not very good. The job was eventually completed to our utmost satisfaction. But it required us to continuously point out bad workmanship to her. It had to be redone. A two-week job really was an eight-week job. At the end of the day, the final outcome was very good. I was pleased with the final outcome. We are retired; we are home. I don’t know how a working person could have kept up with the continual poor workmanship and working so hard to get it corrected properly. It got to be to the point where I was just ready to accept it the way it was. My husband was the one who really pushed to have it done properly. The average consumer shouldn’t have to work so hard to get something done right. The price was very good. They let us get on our own some of the things that they were going to provide, which really helped bring the price down. With regard to punctuality, it was hit or miss. We wouldn’t use them again in the future.

They were outrageously expensive. It was the most ridiculous quote I've ever heard of. It was almost 3 times what everybody else would ask and that included the same type of material. It was so far out with everything else. It was extremely expensive so I did not use them. It was unbelievable. They were very professional. The way they handled everything, there was absolutely no problem. I had no problems with the way they did it. They gave me detailed information. It was all done professionally. They were on time. They were absolutely punctual.

Everything was great. He was wonderful. He did a really good job. He basically is a tile guy but he did a really good job on the floors in a big basement. We really liked the sub-contractors and we still use all of those. He uses the same people all the time if he sub-contracts anything. The electrician, plumbing and all the people that were sub-contracted were all really good. We got three estimates and one was $10,000 higher and then we had another one that really was supposed to be good but his job was $10,000 less than these guys. The quality of work was very good.

I called several of the businesses that are highly rated on Angie's List that specialized in tile installation.  Jud was the most responsive and he agreed to come by the next day to evaluate the job and give me an estimate.  He arrived right on time and was extremely courteous, and professional.  We discussed the project and he gave me some great ideas I hadn't thought of.  His quote was by far the lowest of the four quotes I got.  We agreed on a start date -- I needed it to happen right away because it would soon be too cold to lay tile outside.  He was able to juggle a few of his other jobs to accommodate the urgency.  The workmen who did the job were awesome.  The lead installer clearly had done this work for many years and knew what he was doing.  I'm pretty sure the job took a full day longer to complete than Jud estimated--it was indeed a big job with lots of complicated cuts. Nevertheless when I got the final invoice, Jud honored his original quote and in fact never said a word about what I'm sure was a cost overrun for him. <br /> The tile work looks great. <br />

Mike's Home Solutions did outstanding work!  He is a perfectionist in his work and you can see it in the results.  Mike is completely trustworthy and a diligent worker.  At the end of each day, Mike and his assistant did a thorough job of cleaning the work area.  Mike started and completed the bathroom renovation before starting on his next project.  He provided me with excellent advice when it came to picking and placement of the bathroom fixtures. <br /> Mike's Home Solutions does A+ work and I am going to have him back to renovate my guest bathroom and kitchen. <br />

I was very satisfied with their services. Their prices are pretty high, but the quality of their work is outstanding.

.We had this existing bathroom where we had the tube taken out and installed the shower. It seemed to be good quality work. The installation of the shower door leaked after it was installed. They were responsive and came out right away and spent a lot of time fixing it.

Jud Tile performed spectacularly from start to finish on my (two) jobs (Aug/2011 and most recently, Mar/2012).  The estimate by Jud--who's been in the business for more than 40 years and it shows!--was exactly right in terms of value.  The workmanship was flawless and played out exactly as Jud had promised, with work being done on "consecutive days":  because Jud employs his own plumbers, electricians and tilers, there was no waiting for a free-day by a subcontractor, the office simply scheduled our job with great care so that one workman was ready to go when the previous workman was finished with his part; where subcontractors were involved (granite, glass work), their workmanship met Jud's high standards and Jud stood solidly behind their work.  Finally, because Jud's men were working in my master bathroom primarily and there would be a lot of dust, they began each workday by shrink-wrapping everything in my master bedroom,--down to the linens on the bed and the knick-knacks on the dressers!--and at the end of each workday, the plastic was removed and the carpets were vacuumed, leaving the master bedroom and bathroom as clean or cleaner than when the workmen had found them.  The work crew were exceptionally efficient and capable and perhaps most importantly, exceedinly polite and considerate of us and our home.  I cannot recommend Jud Tile highly enough because they did the job right the first time, no surprises, no change-orders or price-changes...just exactly what we'd agreed upon.

My overall experience was excellent.  Their price was the best that we found.  The quality of work was excellent.  I have never done this before so I don’t know what to compare it to.  They were very responsive.  They were punctual.  They were very professional.  I would use them again in the future.
