"It makes me sad to read such comment. I know exactly the reason why this consumer did this. When we completed the work she had an unusual and worrisome request. We had agreed that the payment would be made in person, before we left and after the work was inspected by the customer. Lisa was not home when we finished but her husband was. He walked around, found no areas of concern and was very happy with the results. Surprisingly, Lisa calls and tells us that she would mail us a check at a later day. We asked why and they reason she provided made no sense. She initially said that she wanted us to email her an invoice although she already had in her possession the agreed written proposal. She then said that only she could make the payment although her husband was there. She kept trying to convince us that she would pay and that we should not worry. This concerned us even more however and we insisted to follow the original plan. At this time we could tell that she was getting very frustrated as we kept expressing concern regarding her new plans. We are a small family business, we cannot survive if we do not get paid for the work that we do. At one point the husband comes out of the bedroom and hands us a check while apologizing for the inconvenience. It is unfortunate that even after treating us in such way she is trying to hurt our reputation by this untruthful and malicious rating."
