"Our contract outlines exactly what we install and what we don't install to address issues such as this and cannot help it if you didn't read the contract in entirety. We provide quality basements at an honest price and we built the basement to your exact specifications. We communicated frequently through text and phone calls regarding the phase of completion we were in and what materials were needed. We are very clear about what items are "design items" for customers to purchase, and what we install. However, we are equally as clear with the customer purchased items to include parameters such as handing, depths, lengths, quantity, and other specs. We do not install closet shelving as customers have varying requests in this area to include California closets, closet systems, crafting closets, children's closets, or even closets for holiday bin storage; an item outlined in the contract. The surround sound system was installed to specifications and was set up perfectly with the 3 TV system you had, however, we do not provide continual house calls to assist you in navigating your TV setup process. This was not a equipment or install issue, it was an operational issue. Shower doors are an additional charge to install and this request was not included in your original contract. Additionally, this was a charge you refused to pay after the shower doors were installed! Mirrors are a delicate item and our crews are not that delicate, and as stated in our contract, we do not install them. We are very specific with tile requirements for both your shower surround and tile flooring and include all information regarding minimum size requirements, square footage needed, grout recommended, etc. Again, we cannot be responsible for you not reading your contract and referring to all information given to you at the beginning of the project. We acknowledged that the built in shelving was not completed and purchased the equivalent cost in floating shelves and installed them at your husbands request. We do not take advantage of any of our customers and is why we offer an honest price on all basements, however, we cannot be held responsible for a homeowner's lack of attention to the details in the contract. Additionally, any modifications to the original contract will result in a charge, this is common sense. Out of all the basements we've completed, you are our only complaint."
