"Laura, We worked for months You purchased XXXX on Aug 5th, 2021. you were presented our proposal on November 2nd; we have exchanged many texts messages of our efforts and your very grateful appreciation of our efforts. It was not until Mr. Oconnor posted a bad review on this site in November on his efforts to get out of paying us for our work. To respond to your timeline; During this time our Architect worked with you to provide you a design that would have been in our proposed budget. The original plan called for an addition of 12 feet and new door walls and windows. That design required that we obtain a variance from the township. We continued to meet on multiple occasions, met with additional subcontractors to get their costs. The original plan would only increase your ceiling height to a peak of 15' but started a slope at 8'. We also agreed to moving your deck out.and a new kitchen and master bedroom, bath and walk in closet. For Record that design we can build for you in that budget for $160K When another home came up on the market across the lake, I suggested we look at it and possible purchase it instead of going to the effort and ZBA approval process. This new home meet everything you desired but was significantly different than the original design we had for you that could meet your budget. You decided not to purchase the other home and wanted to continue with the experience of remodeling your home. We informed you that you would spend more on remodeling your home. We continued meet and upon the fourth redraw we had a full second story removal of your entire home above the basement and have an open ceiling that was now over 27 feet in the center, the master bedroom was widened the home was designed to widen another 8' with the basement being extended. Floor to ceiling windows, a new staircase a larger kitchen all new flooring, siding and doors. We reviewed many different options including using your courtyard and garage. We apologize that we could not be a fit for you. You gave us a glowing review for all of our services, we never missed an appt. Our architect and our company spent more than 100 hours into your needs and designs. We signed a design contract after you had a full chance to not do business with us after reading some reviews posted online. I had explained to you before we ever signed that contract that we did not need to do business and in fact we actually informed you that we were too busy to move forward. It was after one of our project managers contacted you and you realized that there are two sides to all stories, that we had brought us back together. You signed the contract for $6,500.00 but only paid $3,500.00. We have not been fully paid and we have not gone to even collect the balance. In short, our original design had if we had the chance to get all of our budgets together, I believe we could have been successful. On the other hand, after we walked thru the other home, located at XXXX on 10/14/2021 and stated we could rebuild your home located at XXXX for $160K to be the same or even close. We never asked for any money, took a deposit or ever signed a contract with you to construct. Since this has been a become a public forum for two sides to be heard we are very happy to provide all details and documents that will present a fair and honest dialog you can contact us at 248-XXXX or view our website at XXXX.com. We will be happy to post the current home the many designs we drew and the customer's desired home that is a design and product that could never be built for $160,000.00 and that was never told to you or promised. - Christopher Lee"
