KC Outdoor, LLC

I started working with KC Outdoors in January of 2021 to finish my basement. Mike was very personable and professional during our first few telephone conversations and we agreed to move forward with the project. I received a text message from Mike on 30 January stating he submitted everything required for the permit and that a firm start date for our project would be 15 February. After not hearing from him, I reached out on 12 February to confirm, at which point he stated he was still waiting on the county. Unfortunately, this response would be repeated over the next 7 weeks as I continuously contacted him twice per week requesting an update. He never once reached out to me providing an update. On two separate occasions, after reaching out to him, Mike stated he received a correction from the county and he resubmitted the paperwork. Finally, during the week of 15 March, I asked Mike for an update again and he stated the county kicked it back again stating they required another form. At this point, I called the county permit office and they clearly stated that there was no record of a permit application ever being submitted for my property. They confirmed that if any work was going to be done for our house, it would be filed under my property address, and that if there were any corrections, they would be tracking it in their system. I reached out to Mike to see where the miscommunication was to which he doubled down on the lie that he was working with the county to get the permit approved. After asking him again, he stated ** his wife handled permits ** and that he would get back to me after he spoke with her. Needless to say, he never responded back to me with an answer and didnt respond when I told him I was no longer going to move forward with KC Outdoors. From the very beginning, I told Mike that I had another contractor who had almost the exact same quote to finish my basement but I was choosing KC Outdoors because they are a small business and I valued honesty, transparency, and communication. There was no need for him to lie if he had other projects he was working on, but he continued to lie and drag out the timeline. I wasted three months waiting on KC Outdoors and I could have had my basement finished in the meantime. If he is willing to lie on something so trivial, I can only imagine what else he will lie about during the project. I am glad we did not move forward and hope this review helps with anyone considering KC Outdoors.

Amazing work from Mike and team. Loved working with the whole team. They understand our limits and work within those limits. Excellent job.

We hired Mike & his company to repair our front walkway and steps that were falling apart. We were very impressed with Mike and his entire crew. They were very honest and professional right from the start of the project. We are very pleased with the completed job. I would definitely use their services again in the future.

Deer knocked down a large section of an old wooden decorative rail fence. Mike and Jen removed the two old 24 foot fences and replaced that with vinyl fencing. It looks GREAT! They, as usual, were very careful about the plantings in close proximity to the fence sections. They cleaned up everything and even took away some additional branches blown down by earlier wind. They are skillful, courteous, timely and they are very nice people! We highly recommend KC Outdoor.

This was a tricky job, due to the proximity of electric, telephone and cable wires. Mike and his team did an excellent job of safely cutting down a large tree and cleaning up all the debris thoroughly. These people know what they are doing, care about the quality of their work and are consistently prompt and courteous. It s a pleasure to work with them.

We needed one area of previously installed sod replaced, and the rest of the backyard sodded. KC did it right! They prepared the soil well,they laid the sod perfectly. They were on time, courteous, friendly and efficient. What a nice group of people! We then went on to have them take down a large tree and, later, to take down a (deer-) broken fence and replace it. All excellent! I will try to leave reviews in those other categories, as well. We will certainly call KC Outdoor again and feel most comfortable in highly recommending them.

The KC Outdoor Team was incredible to work with! I couldn't be happier with the process or the finished product. They over exceeded my expectations. The KC Outdoor Team worked closely with us to make sure they understood our vision; this company truly provided an excellent experience and quality service all at fair and honest price.

Except for scheduling KC OUTDOOR was excellent. Would gladly recommend and use them again. Matt is a very hard worker and personable, kept me in the loop on each phase of the job.

I don't usually leave reviews but KC Outdoor deserves my praise. One word describes this company, "FANTASTIC" They were hired to build a swale across my backyard to divert rainwater away from my patio. Previously, during a heavy rain , my patio would flood and fill the window wells with water, even though I had two drains on the patio. They dug a 330 foot, 4' wide and 2.5' deep swale across the back. They installed a new rock covered ditch and a new 18" diameter drainpipe under my drive to move excess water into the current drain ditch. they also installed some of the best sod I've ever seen, over the swale. 5 days later we had heavy rain. The result...Hardly any water at all on the patio. Mike, Matt and Crew are some of the most knowledgeable, friendly, and hardest working group I have ever met. Thank you guys for a terrific job!

Roofers seem to be all over the place. Me Gibson from KC did a terrific job!

Ours was a complicated project, a driveway that was flooding our garage and basement. Mike came up with a number of solutions to fix the problems we were having, and he and his team were so dedicated to making sure we were happy with the outcome.

I wanted to have a patio installed for my wife s birthday with only 3-31/2 weeks to get it done. K C Outdoor was the only company that called me, I had to call a couple of other company s. KC Outdoor gave me the best price and said they could get it done in time. After picking out my pavers and pattern with doughts that it would get done in time I called and talked to Mike on Friday who ordered and picked up materials that night and scheduled to work Sunday to get job done. As Mike s schedule changed he and another worker were able to get job done on Saturday. They finished it in one day and it looks great. Very happy with the finished product but more importantly my wife loved it and is very happy work got done in time.Thanks Mike and KC Outdoor.

Mike was a true professional from start to finish. He and his team were punctual and communicated with me throughout the entire process. The result was a fantastic backyard, that I now enjoy relaxing in! I will definitely hire them again!!

Extremely helpful. Sent me links to products to consider and advised on their experience with some of these products. Provided a reasonable price and continued communication while awaiting the ordered product. Responded when scheduled for the installation and worked diligently until finished on a very cold day. Provided images of the installation and a leftover piece of the installed product for examination. I highly recommend the company.
