"We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience; however, we feel it is important to clarify several statements in this review so future customers have the full context. First, this loss occurred during the widespread tornado/storm event that affected numerous homes throughout the area?not a hurricane. During this emergency, our crews were working approximately 12-hour shifts responding to a very large number of affected homeowners. We made every effort to reach each customer as quickly as possible while prioritizing emergency water extraction, stabilization, and preventing additional property damage. We sincerely apologize for any scheduling inconvenience this caused. Regarding the original $7,000 discussion, that amount was based on the conditions visible during the initial walkthrough. Once demolition began, a significant amount of mold was discovered behind the drywall and within affected building materials. This changed the required remediation procedures and scope of work. The homeowner was informed that the presence of mold required additional protocols and that the estimate would change accordingly. An itemized estimate was subsequently provided. K-Savers does not simply ?make up? restoration pricing. Our estimates and remediation procedures are based on industry-standard restoration practices, documentation, and applicable IICRC protocols. Because the homeowner was initially paying out of pocket, we also made substantial efforts to keep the cost down and provided a significant discount. Considering the additional mold remediation that became necessary, the project could have cost considerably more. Regarding the contents shown in the photos, those photographs do not accurately represent the condition in which the remediation work itself was completed. The contents had to be moved to provide access to affected walls, flooring, and other materials. We did not charge the homeowner for a contents reset/pack-back service, so returning every item to its original location was not included in the invoiced scope. We do acknowledge that the contents could have been organized better before our departure, and for that inconvenience we sincerely apologize. We also want to clarify that the photographs posted with this review show conditions during the project and do not show the completed and cleaned areas after our remediation work. Our documentation includes photographs of the work performed, drying documentation/dry logs, and the condition of the affected areas following our services. Most importantly, we communicated with the homeowner?s insurance adjuster regarding the work performed. The documentation, photographs, drying records, and scope were reviewed with the adjuster, and the work performed was discussed and accepted based on the documentation provided. We strongly disagree with the suggestion that there was ever an attempt to deceive or take advantage of a senior citizen. That is a very serious allegation and does not reflect how we conduct our business. Our crews performed a substantial amount of emergency water mitigation and mold-related remediation during an extremely demanding storm response, while also working to reduce the homeowner?s out-of-pocket expense. We respect every customer?s right to share their experience, and we accept responsibility where we could have done better?particularly regarding the organization of the contents at the end of the project. However, we also believe future customers deserve the complete context surrounding the scope, the hidden mold discovered after demolition, the additional work performed, the discounted pricing, and the documentation supporting our services."
