Karaki Landscaping

It was going OK when they arrived on Wednesday since they were no-show on the schedule date on Tuesday and he never responded to my voicemail or text Tuesday nightasking what was going and I received a call from him around 8:10 Wednesday morning asking if I would mind if they backed the truck up on my lawn for the topsoil so they didn’t have to wheelbarrow it up which I said yes as long as they drive on at gingerly. When I was done with work and went out and looked at the final job, they had the dirt pushed up against my wooden fence which anyone knows would cause it to rot over time. So I went out on my own and raked it all away from the fence and I told him that I had to do this via text so he knew that I did this. I even sent him before and after pictures to show him that you could see the bottom of the fence before and now you can’t see it. And then apparently he came out to look at the job today while I was at work im guessing to look at the job his crew finished. When I came home, I saw that he pushed it all back against the fence so I had to go out again tonight and rake it all away from the fence again.That’s when I sent him a text tonight and said I got home from work and was livid that he undid everything that I did and that number one this job was overpriced and number two if I’m gonna pay that kind of money I want The job done as I asked. While I have never met the owner yet, I can tell by talking to him that he does no wrong and came back and said that they did what was asked and when am I going to pay the remaining 75% of the bill. My response was that I’m not paying anything until this is Done the way I asked. He says it was and that it’s not rocket science and that if I don’t pay, I will find out what happens next. As a recent widow, and this being my first task like this on my own, I am not comfortable at all with this whole project or him.sounds like he is threatening me if i dont pay. I have no problem paying this bill because I accepted the verbal estimate (I even reached out a month or so ago, asking for documentation showing the estimate and my prepaid amount and he never responded to me) but if I’m going to pay that much money, I expect the job to be done correctly. They brought out too much topsoil and so it’s not level like it was before and the workers had so much excess topsoil that they ended up spreading it on my lawn to get rid of it so now I have to grass seed other areas that I had no intention of grass seeding. The other issue was, they pulled all of the rocks out of the area as they were weeding it and piled them against my house and told me that I need to get rid of that trash. I have never heard of that before in my life and I ended up having to pick all of those rocks up and put them in my wheel barrel and hurt my back, moving it to the front of the house because it was so full figuring out how I’m gonna get rid of it. I expressed my displeasure with that last night as well and he did have his workers come back and take the rocks so I did appreciate that. To fix this I would have to pay another landscaper to come out and remove the excess topsoil and level it out. I was going to try and do this on my own and just pay him and get him out of my hair, but when I got home and saw that he undid all of the raking that I did to get that soil away from my fence that flipped the switch in me and as someone who hates confrontation, I stood up for myself. I just hope I don’t get hurt in the process. I have pictures and texts for supporting documentation and the issues I expressed to him tonight are the same issues I expressed before. That area needed no more than one and a half cubic yards of topsoil if even that and he brought out 2 1/2 for a 35‘ x 8‘ area and I estimated need of one to 2 inches of topsoil to make up for what was removed. I only slept two hours last night because of my anxiety over all of this. And I expressed that to him as well for him to reply that he hopes that I get some help for my anxiety. This guy is a piece of work and I will never hire them again, but I don’t think it’s right that I have to pay for something that was not done the way that I requested it with the estimator. I even put it in my text to him tonight that I specifically asked him if they knew what they were doing because a couple of months have passed since the guy came out to look at the job and provide me with the estimate. He said yes it’s just this this and this it’s not rocket science. So I assumed he knew what he was doing, but that was not the case. Kobe, the man that came out to look at the job and give me the estimate. Told me I’d be around 1700. I then asked what the timeline would be and he said if I gave a $450 check today as a down payment I would get scheduled for the next week or two. That was not the case, but I just accepted it. I had to follow up a couple times to get a date from them because they never contacted me. Ferris, the owner is now telling me it’s $1800. I’m not gonna squabble over $100 and I don’t want anything for free. I just want the job done correctly and to pay this bill and get him out of my life forever. I also find it amazing that after the job is done and now that he wants his money, he is texting me right away and he is super responsive, but for the past couple of months, I couldn’t get him to answer a text and started thinking I was being scammed.

Feris and his crew did exactly what we wanted done in the yard, cleaning up leftover fall yard waste, removing it, and then spreading mulch. It looks beautiful, they did it promptly and returned to finish it on an additional day when one day was not sufficient, and they were polite and hardworking.

The staff/workers are SO professional, friendly and work very, very hard AND they seem to like the job! Faris has found a great team! They carefully weeded (endlessly!) and placed mulch. Left everything so tidy!

Very professional and courteous crew. They did an amazing clean-up job on my yard -- trimmed my trees, removed invasive vines, cut down a cracked branch on a large tree, and raked the yard to remove all of the debris. I was very impressed, and plan to hire them in the spring to do some landscaping and planting. This is the first time I've hired a landscaping business, and it was an excellent experience.

Wow! I could not be happier with the quality of work that Faris Karaki and his crew put into our landscaping. Very professional and responsive and my mulch beds, shrubs, and hedges look amazing. I wish I had taken a 'before' photo, because the finished product was so astonishing. This is the first time we've used Karaki Landscaping, but we will definitely be using them again in the future.

Extremely poor quality work. We asked them to use high quality weed guard, and they did not. Did not use enough rocks so many areas showing weed guard now. Already had to have them fix a boarder they install because they use many tiny scrap pieces and many pieces were crooked and angled. Looked horrible. Now we are having issues getting answers from them about fixing work or refunding for not doing job. Avoid this company at all costs. They are cheaper than many, but you get what you pay for. Work was done in Palmyra, PA.
