Sod Installation
He was very nice at first and promised that if for any reason the sod did not grow, he would be back next spring and fix it.That was in 2017; after about 21 emails during 2018, he still never came up to look at it. In 2019, still never came up, so we took him to small claims court in Johnston County. We won a judgment against him, but he has yet to pay us. We have lots of pictures of the mess. If anyone wants to see it, just drive by XXX XXXXX XXXXX in XXXXXX or call us to see the pictures. Do not hire him for this kind of work. We are not the only ones he has done this to.

"Mrs. Fisher, If you are going to make a review about a company you should tell the truth. The fact is we laid your sod in 2017, came back later that Fall to trim your shrubs and your sod was beautiful and green; you were very happy. That winter, centipede grass in our area suffered what is called winter kill. The sod came out of dormancy due to some warm weather then was killed off when a frost came after. It is an act of nature and not our responsibility. Several sod farms in the area lost acres of centipede sod. There were articles about the incident that were presented in court, if you recall. It was also proven in court that you failed to hire a chemical specialist after several attempts on our part for you to do so to help get your yard back after the winter kill. We even sent someone to meet with you that also explained all this to you but you refused to hire them. We went by your property several times in 2018 and then again in 2019 and discovered you were purposely mowing your grass down to the dirt to make it look bad in your pictures for your court appearance. The judge saw through your antics and you lost your lawsuit against us. We did, however, offer to pay the amount it cost for the centipede in your backyard to be replaced with fescue; since it was discovered it was too shady for the centipede to grow back there. We did pay that amount, the amount offered to you by us out of kindness not obligation, you might want to check with the courts as to where your money is. I have the payment receipt. We have plenty of happy customers that we have laid sod for. We have always been fair and worked with people to make sure they are satisfied with our work. Sometimes you come across people that only want to blame others for things that they are responsible for fixing. I am sorry but you have been educated by several different people on how to fix the winter kill you suffered in your yard. Blaming someone that laid your sod and came back many months later to do more work for you hardly seems fair. You were satisfied with your yard, you cannot blame a company for an act of God. This is defamation of character based off of false statements made by you. You lost your court case because we didn't do anything wrong, it's time to move on."

Mr. Keen was very professional and listened to what I wanted, but made excellent suggestions, which I used, and the project exceeded my expectations greatly. His workers were skilled, professional and polite and worked very hard. The entire crew worked with me on a time crunch deadline I had and got the job done with time to spare. They were phenomenal and I would recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Mike Friday about grading my yard for our pool. I had already been stood up by another gentleman and was thoroughly disappointed because we set our whole weekend aside for the project. He knew our kids were disappointed so he came out Sunday(which he definitely didn't have to) to do this job for us. He brought his son who was so nice to my 3 year old. I would definitely use Keen landscaping again! He went over and beyond what he had to!!

Keen landscaping provided top notch service at a reasonable price. They were very professional and really worked with us to design and plant a landscape that fit our needs. This included installation of a very large and heavy full grown tree. The owners were on site for the entire job and all workers communicated well speaking English fluently as a first language. The owner went out of his way to send follow-up care instruction for all plants. A few years ago, I had hired the top rated landscaper from Angie's list. In comparison Keen landscaping was superior in every aspect. I will definitely hire them again.
