About us

My small business prides itself on offering personal attention with over 35 years of industry experience. I value honesty & integrity. I stand behind my work. I started and operated a nationally recognized Design/Build Deck & Porch Business in Kansas City from 1993 to 2012. I sold my 3 construction businesses in 2012 and moved to Hawaii to start and operate an Agritourism/Educational Farm until 2017. I am now a traveling carpenter & insurance adjuster based in Birmingham. I pride myself in the quality of my work, strong communication ethic as well as my steadfast commitment to outstanding results. I mostly work by the hour, ($56 to $65 per hour range), but can provide price quotes on many type projects. I am semi retired and spend about 7-8 months of the year working as a multitalented skilled carpenter based in Birmingham. I regularly carpenter in natural disaster zones across the USA. My hobbies: sailing abroad, scuba, running white water rivers, dogs, history and gardening.

Benji was here when he said he would be. He worked steadily throughout both days, did a little extra work for us, and still finished ahead of schedule. He also had a some good ideas on how to make our material go further. I will use Kent Carpentry again for other projects.
