Kent Nickell Construction, Inc.

The work, once accomplished was done well (aside from not making the sidewalk the length I asked for), however, a project that should take 2 weeks at the very most has taken 7 months, with someone coming to work on it about once every 3 weeks. They make promises they don't keep, don't answer phone calls, don't call with explanations or intended plans. I call, leave message, texts, no answers, no return calls, etc. The entire summer and fall has been a nightmare working with these people. They have no integrity whatsoever, and Kent will try to blame it on others, but he is the one not returning calls, getting workers here, letting me know what is going on. Project still isn't finished, and I have a yard full of junk that has been sitting here for months. Sprinklers have been nonfunctional for at least 3 months, and won't be until I call someone next spring to figure out what kind of mess they left me with. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Great, honest builder! We had never considered building a custom home because we thought it would be well out of our modest budget, but we are so glad we found Kent Nickell Construction. We got a custom home, with much higher quality and standards than the big-name builders offered, at a BETTER price! He was easy to work with, was willing to let us bring our own ideas to the table, worked with us to get upgrades at cost without outrageous upgrade fees (some of his suppliers gave us free upgraded options just because they like the guy so much!), and even gave us allowances to shop around for some things on our own when we requested. All things we couldn't get with other builders. Our lot was surrounded by homes being built by a big-name builder at the same time ours was being built, and comparing the quality side-by-side with other builders only increased our appreciation and confidence in Kent and his quality of work. The only drawback to the process was a bit slower timeframe than we were originally quoted, but it was well worth it for the home we got in the end. Would recommend Kent in a heartbeat!
