Kern Painting and Maintenance

I highly recommend Kern Painting and Maintenance. I have hired Joe Kerns for multiple projects over the years, and each time his work has exceeded my expectations. When I purchased my home in 2023, Joe completely transformed my family room. He removed the outdated drop ceiling, installed drywall, added recessed lighting, installed new trim, and painted the entire room. The result was stunning—it looked like a completely different space. What impresses me most about Joe is his versatility. He is not only an excellent painter but is also skilled in carpentry, drywall, plumbing, and a wide range of interior and exterior home improvement projects. No matter the size or scope of the job, Joe approaches it with professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Joe is reliable, honest, and takes great pride in his work. He shows up when he says he will, communicates clearly, and consistently delivers high-quality results. His workmanship is beyond reproach.

Involved and difficult assignment to remove old cedar siding, replace with new, and cover with three coats of semi-transparent stain. It was time-consuming, but he managed to save time and money by preserving most of the under course while removing the outer shingles. Joe is a perfectionist who is attentive to details. I felt like he treated my project as if it were for his own home.

Joe and his crew did an excellent job removing our wallpaper. The walls looked brand new. Their attention to detail is amazing. I would definitely hire them again.

Joe's work is phenomenal. He patched a hole in ceiling, matched the texture of the ceiling with perfection. Painted the entire living room, hallway and kitchen. The job Joe did was perfect and professional. I will he hiring him for another project. Liz

Joe and his crew did an incredible job with our "complete" kitchen remodel as well as replacing the ceiling in our living room and refacing all of the walls. They removed all of the old carpeting in the living room, the sub-floor in the kitchen and replaced both rooms with new laminate flooring. The walls and ceilings have been primed and painted beautifully. Extensive electrical rewiring had to be performed in order to bring everything up to code.....and it was quite a headache at times. Joe also did all of the plumbing for the new dishwasher, sink and disposal. They are far more than just painting....they pretty much can do it all. We will definitely hire them again for future projects. Dee B. in East Oakmont

Joe does a meticulous job of prepping before painting. Furniture, floor, and windows were covered prior to painting. The rooms were painted to perfection! Would use again and recommend to others! LZ North Hills, Pittsburgh, PA

Joe (and Brady) treated our home like his own and they did an amazing job painting our kitchen, dining room, living room and interior hallways (up to 3rd floor). Professional high quality work, keeping us informed along the way and suggesting options to keep costs reasonable. High quality work and we will definitely be hiring Joe again for other projects (inside and outside)

Joe Kern and his crew were professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. They did not disappoint and went above and beyond to ensure we had a beautiful paint job done.

Joe, and Dewan did an excellent job, they removed old wall paper in kitchen and painted all walls and trim. They also repainted our family room, removed old (3) layers of wallpaper, repaired walls and painted fireplace. It was very time consuming but they never stopped. My wife and I have already spoke to Joe about removing carpet and putting small bathroom in basement this fall. I have nothing but praise I would definitely hire them again highly recommend their services. Great Job.

Joe and his crew did an excellent job. They are conscientious and deliver near perfect results. We will definitely hire them again for our painting and maintenance needs and highly recommend them.

Did a good job. Would hire again and recommend to others.

Joe, Brady and crew worked extremely hard and trustworthily went above and beyond to make additional needed repairs even though we weren't in town to supervise or witness the progression of the job. Brady cleaned up the site perfectly and put back our landscaping rock exactly right. We are confident due to Kern & crew's intense labor, our siding will now be well protected for probably more than a decade. We are profoundly grateful for a job well done, as well as for exceptional personal attention and quality customer service. We deeply appreciate extra time given to us that was not charged on the final invoice. Our neighbors are especially pleased to finally see our historic house preserved! Thank You so much! :)

joe and his team were on time and did a excellent job on our house. i would highly recommend Kern Painting..

The crew worked hard and were thorough. Did a great job prepping the surface to be painted (all of the siding, awnings, shutters and front door). Thanks guys :-)

Late season large exterior paint job and while weather was spotty, the work quality is excellent and at a fair price as compared to other estimates. Will utilize Joe and his team in the future as well as recommend Joe to others.

To keep it short and simple, I had 3 quotes to paint the outside of my home and Joe came in at the best price and his work was excellent.

Joe did a great job! We had several bids for a complete exterior paint job and Joe came in the best price and gave us different options to make the job more affordable. He was flexible with time and his crew worked early and late to get the job done right in the time he promised. I would definitely recommend him!

Painted 2 interior rooms. One room required removal of wallpaper. All work was well done and completed in a timely fashion. Joe explained all aspects of the job and performed them in a professional manner.

Completely satisfied. Also will have them back to do other work in their off season. The house hadn't been painted in, oh, thirty years and it now looks as good as when I purchased it just as it was built!

He has painted several interior rooms and has done basement work. He most recently painted the house exterior trim. All jobs were well done, reasonably priced, and completed within time frame given. We will definitely use Kern's services again.

Joe did a solid job. He's dependable, trustworthy, flexible and fair. He painted the exterior of my home and garage. The price was reasonable. I would hire him again!
