I chose this company based on some good reviews and being a family business. Only later did I find negative reviews in a more general search, including a law suit brought for poor roofing. The work began in February 2022 and was left unfinished on May 17, 2022. This is the worst experience I have ever had with the many contractors used through the years. I contracted for a partial new metal roof on my barn - that work is okay. On the back side of the roof I contracted for sealer to be applied and needed repairs. They did not replace a piece of metal roofing with a rusted hole and it took nearly two months to get them to replace that piece. They left a two by four board nailed nearby for an unknown reason and I told them to remove it several times, which they finally did. The company was to replace rotted boards on barn and but they left many rotted boards and painted over them. They buried a section of the barns wooden wall at least 5 inches by dumping excess dirt there from gutter drain I had them install. I had to dig and remove the two wheel barrows of dirt because they did not/would not. The barn gutter elbow leading to the underground drain had a major leak which I found and told them to repair. When they started the gutter underground drain job, they came without shovels or picks and I had to loan them mine which they used for the over two months it took them to do the work. I had to request return of two shovels which they took along the way. The first ditch the crew dug for the drain was on the wrong side of the barn and was dug into the side of my large farm pond. The agreed upon ditch was on the other side of the barn draining into an overflow pond. Luckily I discovered the problem in time before they damaged the wall of my pond. I had three contracts with this company and was initially pleased to work with a family business. I was not pleased, however, with their lack of skill, attention, and efficiency on the small outbuilding improvement projects for which I paid. The owner and guy mostly in charge did not respond to texts or phone calls and the work was shoddy. They often did not show up and/or left after a short time for other jobs, to get supplies, to fix broken trucks, etc. The crew of workers was different nearly every time they made an appearance and few had experience doing the work contracted for. I paid for under the farmhouse foundation work which did not correct the issues with the floor - it did level the house, which was as highlight of this work. Nearly 12 bags of concrete were put on the dirt floor of my barn and were not used for the concrete pads that were discussed as needed. I will be having this job inspected and may take legal action for a refund. The crew did not return as promised on the day agreed upon for the final punch list tasks - projects were unfinished/poorly done and my texts and phone calls were unanswered. I am very disappointed in this work and extreme lack of customer service and would not recommend Kerns Roofing.

These are quick to respond, very professional, well priced, and very thorough and fast. Had them repair a leaky chimney/roof and they were finished in just a couple hours and it looks great!
