Major Renovation Multiple Room Service
We hired Kilgore Remodeling on 11-2021. The contract stated the project would be completed within 12 weeks. We did add a few exterior projects but no projects inside that should have taken months longer. Finally, 24 1/2 weeks later, we decided to cut a final check. His crew did some great work. However, there are some workmanship defects and results we were left with. -2 electrical outlets were installed in the wrong place. -We ordered WHITE rock as filler behind retaining wall. He ordered gray without our ok and stated he would change it out or overlay the gray with white rock for more $. -A vertical exterior pipe to house electrical wire was left open and now has collected rain water in it. -Contract specifies all drawers installed would be the soft close drawers but he did not. -He took all of our belongings out to our shed without our ok. Now he refuses to bring them back in without charging more $. Being senior citizens and handicapped he knows we are not physically able to climb up in that shed. Removing our items to the shed ruined our king size bed set, both twin mattresses and our 2 recliners. Most, if not all, of our pantry items are surely ruined. -He installed our Ring doorbell and helped install the program. When setting up the perimeters from our home he emailed the following to us along with some added bogus charges to a statement... Since the installation of the ring security system, it has been made increasingly clear that me and my crew are being watched, and private conversations have been listened to.Based on this, my entire crew is now extremely uncomfortable working at your home.I feel that we have formed a relatively strong trust level throughout the process of remodeling your home, therefore, during construction, I request that the microphones and cameras be turned off, to be turned back on when the crew leaves for the day, and operation verified with you before. Private conversations At that point I became curious enough to go back to review to see why our security system was suddenly an issue. Those private conversations must be the discussions where his crew talked about all he did wrong and how they had to go behind him to fix things. When confronted about the bogus charges he admitted to adding them out of anger. Anger? He then removed them after I told him we would see him in court before we paid those. -Bogus charges were: *$500: move belongings out to the shed *$500: move belongings back in *$200: secure windows and gates. Windows-placing some of the painters paper over 3 windows and 1 of the painters tarps over one. Security of the gate-closing the gate behind them when they left property. *$400: take delivery of appliances. They opened the door once for delivery. *$50: repair attic stairs wherein they left a bolt off which almost caused my husband to fall. We hate having to give this type of review. At the beginning we were writing a far different one before things started surfacing. We realize not idea things happen during construction and we were willing to live with it. However, we gave him multiple opportunities to be a man of his word and return our belongings back like he said he would. If he had only done that...but he did not. So please proceed with caution.

The work product of this company was nothing short of â Outstandingâ . Believe me, as a 70 year old Attorney, I am not easily impressed by anything. But I was completely impressed by this company.

$2,300
Tried to hire him a while back for a site built home, but due to unforeseen events in the house we were in, we had no time left to wait on the construction. But, before all that happened, Aaron was very easy to work with and very respectful. Since I was not able to hire him to build my house, I did need some doors built to secure my barn and in a hurry. He came over the night I called and we came up with a plan. Work started the next day. With him being on another job at that time, Aaron came in the evenings to help the other man he hired to start the job. That gentleman is also very knowledgeable and enjoyable to work with. They both are. Between these two guys, I have some awesome, secure doors on my barn that would take a tank to get through. LOL If any other work comes up, I have him on speed-dial.

Aaron Kilgore of Kilgore remodeling Kilgore remodeling worked at my house for 10 weeks on a job that was supposed to take six weeks he left at least 25 % or more of the job incomplete an expected to be paid for completion. During the time he worked at my home he told me several things that concern me about his background one was that he had a bankruptcy that he filed where he left a $40,000 debt and he seemed proud of that and another one was that he had not paid the plumber that had done work for him in the past. He also took the keys to my vehicle when he left and later decided he would bring them back before I reported it to Authorities.
Response from Kilgore Remodeling Service
"This job unfortunately did not proceed as planned as described by the customer, however there are several elements of this review that are either simply untrue or malicious in nature. The job did go past schedule. This is a weekend/vacation home for the customer, and it was agreed upon from the beginning that it may take longer than expected due to the customer (interior designer, not homeowner) not only not having ordered all materials, but was unwilling to order certain materials (vanity, sink, lights, etc) until the last week I was on site. These are special order and to my knowledge will not arrive for another 4-5 weeks, and should have been ordered prior to job start. Customer also continually added large changes to the scope of work and expected no delays due to the addition. As previously stated, this was a vacation home, at one point in the project, during the Christmas holiday, the homeowner requested that I stop work for approx. one week while he used the home, accounting for the overage on schedule. As far as percentage completion, according to the original contract I had with this customer, the only remaining items were vanity installation, baseboard installation, and grout on the tile when I left. I had completed several additional details, (approx. 300 sq ft of tongue/groove cedar accent walls and cedar closet, framing/casing of window that was agreed at the beginning of the job was not my responsibility, stucco texturing an entire bedroom wall, some minor roof repair, some minor framing repair in the attic, and reframing a bathtub surround because she didn't like the way it looked although it was originally built to exactly to manufacturer specs). According to original contracts, my work was at approx. 95% complete. The customer stated that I expected payment in full. This is also incorrect, as I had agreed to accept payment for work completed with deductions for unfinished aspects. I had also agreed to return to complete several of those aspects and was told not to. According to our conversation at that time, I had agreed to take less than full payment, and had not asked for any additional money for the additional work in an attempt to make the customer happy. The customer made reference to a bankruptcy in my past. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances in my life, I have filed bankruptcy several years ago, and have worked diligently for several years to recover from it. I am not proud of that fact, the only reason she is aware of this is because of a conversation we had about a certain bank, in which I revealed that I cannot do business with that bank any more because of the debt that was involved in that bankruptcy. The customer stated that I have not paid sub contractors that have worked for me in the past. This is an outright lie. I told her that I needed final payment so that I could recoup my payment to the plumber. I use one plumbing company exclusively, and have paid him at time services are"
