King Property & Tree Works, LLC

Prompt and courteous. Shared lots of tips about caring for the sod.

Did a good job. Completed project as expected

Had new sod put in my back and front yards. Mike came out for an estimate, made some suggestions about sod types, and quoted a fair price. Work was done efficiently and on time. Team was diligent in making sure the area was prepped and sod laid out to look like it had been there for a while. Would recommend Mike and his team to others.

Great job. For fair price.

Mike and his team did a good job from start to finish. They were also very accommodating as the pool company kept slipping their completion date. I look forward to seeing the sod in the spring when warmer weather comes and everything starts blooming. Would recommend King Property & Tree Works!

Mike and his crew from King Property & Tree Works has provided an excellent and professional service on the sods installation. They've delivered everything on-time, with high quality in terms of services and products; just as we were expected. Will recommend King Property & Tree Works to friends and family and will contact them again for the next project. Thanks so much again, for the job well done.

Hired Mike for sod and to trim our trees. He was nice when wanting your business but does not stand behind his work.

It's good that I can give 0.5 stars for a review on Homeadvisor.com. If I could give 0 star, definitely I will give all 0 stars to this company. I really regret I hired this company twice, which is absolutely a huge mistake I had made. In September 2019 I hired them to trim some trees and bushes and removed a Bradford pear tree in the backyard. This company did not have the machine to grind stumps. They have to rent the machine. So they just cut the tree and left the stump behind. They delayed it again and again for numerous times, and eventually got the stump ground and removed two months later in November. But the story didn't end here. They didn't remove the pear tree stumps and roots completely and they kept coming back. At the end of June 2021 when the tenant moved out, I found the remaining stumps and roots had grown into a big shrub. So I tried to call Mike King and asked if he could come back to get the roots and sprouts taken care of, and he said he could do it for free. Perhaps this somehow changed my previous bad impression somewhat on this company and this guy such that I made a wrong move at that point. At that time I happened to be looking for a tree service company to trim the trees and bushes and plant some shrubs for this house, so I thought why not hire this company to do this job, since they will come to treat the Bradford pear roots and sprouts anyway. Again, when they came over to do the work, they didn't bring a stump grinding machine and didn't do anything on the pear tree roots and sprouts. It's not a suprise, though, because they still don't own such a machine. When coming to planting a few shrubs in the front yard flowerbed, Mike played the same trick again. He kept telling me he could not find the shrubs in nurseries and delayed it again and again, and after one month he simply told me he didn't want to do it when I sent a message urging him to complete the job ASAP. Of course, he never came back to treat the pear tree roots and sprouts either. He told me in a text message that his company didn't do tree service business anymore and he was traveling around the world playing music. Funny thing is, I later found he recalled the majority of this text message and only a couple of words of this message still remained on my cell phone. Basically, this company is only good at tree trimming, but nothing else. Their crew can do tree trimming reasonably well. They did a very bad job on bush trimming, mulch application, bush planting, etc. I would say they are not professional at all on bush trimming. I believe I can do a much better job than they do if I do it myself for bush trimming and planting. This guy is used to using prices somewhat lower than others as bait to get your business, and then reduce the services as much as possible when they come to do the job. This time I also hired them to do tree trimming and bush trimming for another house. After they did the bush trimming, I couldn't even tell if the job was done because the bushes were basically untouched. I will definitely never use this company again. And according to this guy, they don't do the tree service business anymore.

Excellent service, timely, fair and neat. Very professional and reasonably priced. They trimmed back our oak trees and cleaned our gutters.

Installed the sod the next day as communicated.

Michael & his crew did an amazing job trimming the trees & thinning out branches. They also put in new St. Augustine as half my backyard was dead due to lack of sunlight….. these guys are efficient, very friendly, and I will definitely continue to use them for any future projects. I highly recommend this company!

They did not have any concerns about the quality of their work. Their only concern was about finishing the job as fast as possible. I would not recommend this company.

The sod was delivered early in the morning and by lunch, the crew was in my yard prepping the yard and laying the sod. I just needed 5 pallets and they had it down pretty quick.

Mike makes it easy to negotiate business between his company and the customer. His staff is kind, courteous, and diligent. Mike stands behind his product. I would hire Mike and his staff again.

Like many others commented on their experiences about sod install, mine was no different. TO begin the crew was very nice, fast and polite. I requested to remove grass in additional 50-60 sq. ft. which they did. Old grass was trimmed to dirt level and not removed from the root using a shovel. I am just hoping old grass does not grow again. Topsoil was added, but the ground was not graded at all. Now I am experiencing water puddles in some areas. Post grass installation water rolling was also not done, they told me it is not required. 3-4 houses in the community got sod installation done with this company and most of them got similar complaints. Last but not the least, customer service, a couple of times I received rude text responses which I certainly do not appreciate.

Second time I used them.

Mike and his crew did a great job laying the St. Augustine sod!

Very professional and does great work. Sod installation looks terrific.

They took all measurements for the area. We agreed on the price and what it should include. They told me that ALL green space was included, also the curve side. They did not install the sod in ALL areas as they said. The estimate was not precise. It did not have the measurements (Only the number of pallets). When I asked, they simply said that they never said that or considered it. They did not prepare the soil. They were supposed to remove the old grass and weeds, just trimmed them. Never took out roots or weeds. Neither aired the current soil. They were supposed to level the area by adding soil, as they said in the estimate. They did not do it. He wrote in the estimate that he would add any extension needed for the sprinklers heads. He did not install anyone. Now I see the old grass growing again while the new sod is still rooting. Fourteen days had passed. I am not satisfied at all.

Mike King and his crew installed Palisades Zoysia grass in our backyard and did a good job w that. However we also wanted a pathway built from the back gate to the patio, using the same pavers as the patio was constructed with. He couldn t get the pavers so chose another similar one, less expensive. Unfortunately they surrounded the pavers w small white rocks that we are constantly picking up off the grass. The pathway wasn t properly prepared at all. Instead of removing existing sod and making a proper base for the pathway, they simply put down landscape fabric on top of the existing grass and pounded in plastic edging that is only 2â tall. The pathway is on a slight slope and no attempt was made to level it. Consequently, the rocks easily slip out because they are headed downhill to begin with. The rocks used to fill in the pathway are very lightweight. Probably the cheapest available, as I wasn t consulted on the type of rock I wanted. They are white and nothing in my landscape or home is white. When I contacted him about it, his response was that his crew worked very hard on the pathway and he was â sorry to hear you ve decided to hate it! The only remedy offered was to remove some of the rock. Since the rock is barely 2â deep, and doesn t fully cover in other areas because of the slope, this is obviously an unacceptable remedy. He did not seem at all interested in anything else, since it was obviously our problem that we â decided to hate it. Buyer beware.

Did a great job suppling grass sod and install along with stump grinding.

I paid 350 for the job and the limbs that I wanted trimmed were not touched, and I had to finish the job myself.

Fast response, fair rates and excellent service. They did some delicate work in a front raised bed without damaging anything. overall excellent service

Quick response, fair price and job done well.
