In the summer of 2023, I hired Kirkland Roofing Company to do work on my home. The entire job was a disaster. Josh was the representative from this company that I worked with. The scope of work included replacing a rotted 4â x8â section of soffit; replacing and painting 8 6â fascia boards with 10â fascia boards; repairing the torchdown roofing which had been removed to install the new fascia boards; installing new flashing; adding a new drain spot; and replacing 8 roof vents. The total cost of this job was $18,881. I was required to pay $10,702 before the work was started. The work was scheduled to begin on 6/22/23. Often, the workers showed up late, or didnâ t show up at all. I also discovered that the workers were not employees of Kirkland Roofing Co. Rather, Kirkland Roofing Co. contracted with another company to do the work. The rotted section of the soffit was removed, soffit boards which did not match the existing soffit boards were installed, upside down, and were spray painted with a color not matching the existing soffits. When the new soffit boards were installed, they covered up what had been an existing drainage hole for a downspout, which left me with no drainage in one entire section of the roof. During a subsequent rainstorm, water was gushing over the edge of my roof, as it had nowhere else to go. When the fascia boards were installed, it was apparent that they did not match the existing fascia boards (original boards were smooth, new boards were rough in texture). When I brought this up with Josh, he told the workers to flip the boards over, because the back sides were smoother. The boards still did not match the original fascia. Josh didnâ t seem to realize the need to order materials consistent with what was already on the home. The ends of the boards were simply sawed off and nailed up, leaving raw edges. Although I gave Josh specific information about the paint color to use so as to match existing trim, the workers used paint they already had, which did not match. On their last day of work, the workers told me that they had started to repair the torchdown, but Josh had come by and told them to leave the torchdown undone, and to just reinstall the flashing. This is what they did. Two hours later, Josh showed up at my home to collect his final paycheck. When I asked why the torchdown work had not been completed, he insisted that it had been done. He put a ladder up to the house, crawled up and took a photo of the flashing, to show me the work had been finished. In fact, he knew that the work had not been finished, because HE was the one who told the workers not to finish it. He wanted the job completed that day so that he could collect his check. (A month later, I hired another roofer to come to my home to repair the damaged torchdown, at a cost to me of $2,300.) Josh told me that my roof vents were bad, and needed to be replaced at a cost of $2,400. I decided to cancel this job, because the cost seemed excessive. When I had a new roofer out to fix the damaged torchdown, he checked the roof vents and told me they were fine, no need for replacement. The worksite was left a mess every day. Downspouts, garbage, nails and wires were left laying on the ground, and a can of paint had been spilled on my driveway. Nothing was ever cleaned up. For the past three months, I have asked Kirkland Roofing Co, to return my downpayment of $10,702.40 to me, since NOTHING had been done correctly. They have refused. They told me they would come and redo the work, which is interesting, given that NO ONE from the company has ever even come out to evaluate the work after it was supposedly â completedâ , despite numerous invitations from me to come over. I do not trust this company, and I would never allow them on my property to do work again.
This Rating Cannot Be Further From The Truth! Ms Lynn Cancelled The Job Multiple Times. We Had To Get A New Team Out There Multiple Times, Because She Didn?t Like There Skin Color!!! I Would Never Advise Any Contractor To Work For Lynn Lawrence. We Are A Family Business Since 1998- Trying To Help Our Community.
Good working company. East to deal with
Easy to work with job done well
Job was quoted as taking 1-2 days. It took 9+ days to complete. Workers were pulled off job at day 7 to work on a different job. Company contact said that they would be back next day. 2 days later the project was completed. What distressed me the most was that we received numerous (7 email/ 5 texts) texts and emails the next day and following day to pay the final bill immediately. Included in one was a threat to rescind a discount and add daily late fees. Appeared to me they were taking advantage of a Sr Citizen by bullying them. Work was completed on a Wed and bill was paid in full the next Monday.
Unfortunately Some Of This Is True! We Had To Delay Project Due To Weather. And Mr Mike Didnt Respond For (5) Days. About Final Payment. Completely Shunned Us Out. After We Stated We Will Be Charging A Late Fee. He Conveniently Contacted Us. He Also Stated We Was $5000 Cheaper Then Everyone Else. We Truly Tried To Make This Couple Happy. Even Offering Them Free Labor and Materials Trying To Make Things Right. Due To The Delays. I Recommend Any One Trying To Work With Mr Mike S. Do A Double Check, Where A Family Owned Business Since 1998 Trying To Take Care Of Our Customers.
Kirkland Roofing co was excellent. Project was delayed for a few days due to weather but Joshua kept me informed the whole way through. They were here on time every time. the crew was very respectful. I recommend Kirkland roofing co to everyone. :) cheers
Having no experience in getting a new roof we went into this project blind, having 4 different estimates when we met Josh we knew he was gonna be the one. He was very knowledgeable, he was patient to answer all our questions not just half like the others. Job was finished ahead of schedule and he was very communicative along the job, and to top it off his crew did a thorough cleaning upon completion. Look no further, this is the right company. I highly recommend Josh and his crew.
Joshua was very professional and accommodating. Kirkland roofing fit us into the schedule during a very busy work season. Hector is a very experienced, top tier, skilled contractor who leads a competent team. Kirkland Roofing's workers arrived on time, and produced to the highest standard. Custom construction was above beyond our expectations! Would highly recommend. We intend to re-hire this company for future roofing work.
The company has natural people skills, that leave room for old people to trust the whole process. It was a pleasure to do business with Kirkland roofing co.
Joshua was extremely helpful completely transparent let us know every step of the way what was going on Everything was done sooner than expected! :)
