"Thank you for your review. We are sorry you did not like our service. We are not hired to support your Contractor's opinion. We are professional independent engineers. We informed youthree hours in advance that we will be late. We explained the three options for assessment that we have, including the verbal assessment without a report that you did choose. We are not Contractors and we are not trying to sell a product for you, so we told you the best engineering solution regardless of the price. We explained in detail why an interior drain you suggested under the basement slab won't work as the crack you have is a stress crack. You need to release the pressure behind the walls. We don't recommend digging under the slab next to the walls to protect the foundations from soil heaving, based on the geologic profile in your area, which can cause more damage to the walls. We did recommend another solution for an interior surface drain that you didn't like. We mentioned that you need to use epoxy to seal the crack, in addition to the carbon fiber straps. No need for polyurethane as we are using carbon fiber straps, in addition, that the polyurethane for concrete applications is much more expensive. We are not responsible that the Contractor is trying to offer something you don't really need, and it will cost more. We understand we didn't have the good news you were expecting from us. You don't like the solution we provided. Our job and our credentials to tell you the truth and the right solution, not to support your Contractor's opinion, or the solution you prefer versus your partner's opinion. Our engineering opinion is based on our credentials, past experience, and the assessment of the crack condition you have; in addition to the geologic profile and ground seepage condition in your area. We are not Contractors, and we are not trying to sell you another solution. You choose the option not to have a report. If you are qualified and accredited to make a decision, then why you hired us. We are sorry that you didn't like our service."
