How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because Knight Lighter is a locally owned and operated business. Tim Renfro the owner, has proudly served the KC metro area since 2011. Located in south Overland Park, we have customers in every county within 75 miles. Tim offers personal service on every project. From the 1st phone call to the final details, he does it all. This level of service from the owner sets Knight Lighter apart. Tim has 30 years’ experience in the outdoor lighting industry and as received awards from Nightscaping University. He continues to attend seminars and training classes offered by the leading lighting manufacturers to ensure that he has the latest technology to offer to his clients. Tim is a dedicated family man who has been married to his wife Beth for over 30 years. Together they have raised two children and are currently enjoying two beautiful granddaughters. Tim came to assess our need to replace a light fixture on a 30 ft light on a flag pole. He determined that it could not be reached safely by a ladder. He referred us to Wayne who had a truck with a cherry picker bucket. Wayne came as soon as we had the replacement bulbs. Both gentlemen were very professional and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely use them again.

Performed great work exactly as was agreed during the initial walk through. Left almost no trace in my yard burying the cables for the landscape lights. Would recommend this company to others.
