I had a ver pleasant experience with Brian. He arrived within the time frame give. The work looks new and I’m pleased. Will hire this company again.

Brian was very nice. Appointment done as scheduled and the work is great.

I contacted Mr. Knott to see if he would be able to repair a small weld on my boat which had broken and begun to leak. At his request, I sent pictures of the area to be repaired. He then sent me a price (via text) for the job. His price quote was $175-$250. I agreed to have him do the work because this was the best price I had as yet received. I dropped the boat off at his shop. A week later he called me and said the boat was finished but that the cost was now $315. I questioned him about the difference from the quoted price, and he responded that it took longer than he expected. When I received his original price, I assumed that the price range of $175-$250 included a built-in buffer: $175 if the job was simple with no surprises, and $250 if it was more complicated than expected. I did not expect a final price that was 80% higher than his low range estimate, and 30% higher than his high range estimate. I expect a businessman, who gives you a price to do a job, to stand by his professional estimate, not to change it after the job is completed. It turns out that his final cost was not the best price I received on having this work done. There were other welding companies that have been in business longer and are better known, that gave me written prices that were less than $315. I feel confident that these other companies would have kept their word and only charged me the quoted price if only to satisfy and keep a customer for another job. I can't comment on the actual work that was done on the boat. The weather has not yet allowed me a chance to get out on the water to see if the leak has been repaired. I will not use Knott Welding again, and suggest that you use extreme caution in believing any "estimate" received before you agree to have them do work for you.

They were very professional when they were here. The work exceeded my expectations.

I made the appt for repair. Took the day off from work,he never showed,never called. I called company and he says he forgot to out into his calender. Had to take a 2nd day off of work. I also think they should have painted the entire railing and not just covered over the rust spots.

Less than 5 minutes after my initial inquiring into Home Advisor, I got a call/text from Brian to begin the process. Very courteous through out entire process and the results look great. I will mention his name/company to neighbors who share the same need to solve a problem - 25 year old townhouse rod iron railing posts that are rusting away and a risk liability.

I'm a General Contractor and have hired many businesses over the past 25 years. Brian was great to deal with and did a perfect job. I highly recommend him and will use his company for every welding and fabrication project in the future. I only wish I met him long ago!

Brian the owner was very pleasant to deal with and very professional . My wife and I were very impressed and surprised at his level of craftsmanship in replacing our wrought iron fence out front .His workmanship exceeded that of a previous contractor we hired, but greatly disappointed us, requiring them to remove their poorly constructed rails. Thank goodness we found Brian! Good and honest contractors are far and few between. We highly recommend Knott's Welding and would use them again!

They totally exceeded my expectations for my project. I had an outside staircase to a basement that was surrounded by a fence that was no where near current code. Not only did Knott's Welding make it safer and brought it up to current code, they made it look so much better than what I had pictured. They met all my requirements for the job and then made it look great. They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves.

When I spoke to Brian, the owner of the business, I was rather surprised that even though his shop was in Frederick, MD, he was willing to send down one of his employees to handle the repair job at my property in Beltsville, MD. Brian was very personable, trustworthy & professional. I would gladly recommend his team for any type of welding work that other folks might require.

Work was done on time and they did an excellent job.

Final product looks great and is well constructed. Only short coming was getting back to me on a installation date until I called. The installation was done on the day committed. Very happy with the final products.
