Darren Kopta, (aka Kopta Construction) was hired to build a 600 SF in-law apt. for Mom. $78,800. It took 2 1/2 years and HE never finished. We paid Darren the balance of $13,300 on Dec. 21, 2024 and he signed another contract to return after Christmas to finish the job. House needed a full kitchen, water to be connected and 11 inspections required (8 did not pass inspection) plus a full screened porch. Darren Kopta never returned to put in the kitchen, said he was broke. Mom, age 93 with failing health, spent her money and finally her son had to buy and install all the cabinets, sink, etc., and hire other workers so Mom could move in May 1st, 2024, she died Nov. 26, 2024. Darren promised so much and in the end abandoned us totally stealing Mom's and our money. We had to spend $6,275. more to finish everything including the Final 11 Inspections. We could not afford the Screened in porch. BE AWARE, Darren Kopta talks great but may take your money and leave you stranded.

Darren is super friendly and easy to work with. He did an addition that was inaccessible on two sides. He showed up on time and got it done, creating a beautiful outdoor space for us to enjoy. He did it for the price he quoted, when he said he would do it and left everything clean.
