Birdies Fencing

Mid July my husband and I had a fence put up at our new home in Archbold by Birdie's Fencing. The finished job was terrible. The fence was not level, the fence was not straight (zig zag across the property), the gates were not level, posts not level, the gates slanted downward, as well as a large gap between the double gate doors. Additionally, the fence was left with dirt all over it, and piles of scraps in our yard. We called the owner back who did the job himself. He came out to our house and we walked him around the property. We pointed out all the issues and he assured us that he would come back the following week and fix it. He said he would not cash the check, and would even bring it with him when he fixed the fence. He has since ignored us, as well as my father in law. He will not return calls or texts. He even hung up on me twice. When I called him and asked if this was Birdies Fencing, he told me I had the wrong number and hung up on me. Communication is non existent.

Quote received on 05-14---deposit paid on 06/05---waited weeks for delivery of materials. Install 9th and 10th July 2026. Monday 13th July--called him to a meeting at 16h30. I had mailed him the final payment check on Saturday 11th July. He banked it on Thursday 16th July after agreeing he would not bank it at the 13th July meeting. at the meeting he was shown the crooked fence on all 4 sides. He was shown the uneven height of the top of the fence all the way around and the misalignment of most of the fence posts. He was shown the crookedness and 1 panel difference in the back wall of the fence. he was shown the trash left lying around. he was shown the single gate not swinging free nor was it aligned. he was shown the wire sticking out of the single gateopening handle. he was shown all the mud marks on the fence panels. He was shown the garage side back corner height misalignment with the rest of the fence. he was told NOT to bank the check that was mailed until we were happy with the rectifications. He banked the check on Thursday 16th July with out finishing the work professionally. Since the 17th july we have been text messaging, calling and emailing him to come to fix his very poor workmanship. He has gone radio silent. We have called from different numbers--no reply. We have texted from different numbers--no reply. He was called 3 times from an Archbold number and as soon as "Is that Logan or Birdies Fencing " was asked he put the phone down. He did state in a text that he would come on Thursday 23 or friday 24 July to fix it. The text is attached. He has not come to fix the terrible workmanship. He does NOT answer calls or texts. An horrendous job was done that needs to be rectified. Attached are all the text messages and an email chain as well as the quote, check copies and some fotos.
