"On September 10, 2016 we told the homeowner that we really didn't want to take this job on top of everything else we had going, because of the severity of damage to the older home. She expressed that she couldn't get anyone else out there to even look at the home. We decided to do it for her, but made sure she understood that we didn't know when it would be completed, but would try to meet her deadline of Thanksgiving. We explained to her that she had an older home and this would not be an easy job. We told her verbally and in the contract that we would level the floor as close as possible. (On a 4' level the floor was within a ¼ of an inch when completed) We told the homeowner verbally prior to signing the contract and then again in the contract that adjusting the floor may cause the walls to crack and that we would fix the cracks and make them look as good as possible. We had to dig a footer underneath the already existing home and put a block foundation under it. This part of the job required for there to be a week, or longer, without rain so that there wouldn't be any water damage in the process of repair. In the contract it states that the homeowner was to supply the flooring for the home. The homeowner did purchase the flooring, but instead of her having to pay to have it delivered, We made 2 separate 60 mile round trips just to get the flooring. We tried in every way to help her out and please her. When the homeowner sent a certified letter telling us that the job was to be done by a certain date or we wouldn't get paid in full, taking half, we realized we were going to have a problem. The homeowner entered a binding contract with the understanding that there wasn't a date in which the job would be completed and was now making her own stipulations. The certified letter also included a punch list of things she wanted done. We proceeded to do what was on the punch list (even extras), for the sake of getting paid, only to receive an addition punch list after that. At this point it just felt like she was trying to get out of paying us, considering we had completed everything by contract and gone over and above and she still would not pay. The homeowner had already breached the contract by refusing to pay the fourth draw, + $50.00 owed from earlier, when due saying she would not pay until the job was completed. Then when the job was completed she refused to pay anything. I, Linda Dupin, called her on Thursday December 1, 2016 and explained that we had completed everything by contract and asked when we could expect payment. She went on to tell me that it wasn't completed and mentioned items that we were not contracted to complete. I offered her a discount of $1050.00, that day only, just so we could get this behind us and move on and she still refused to pay. She mentioned pictures of baseboards, she claimed were missing, but when I asked her to send them to me by email or text she said "I don't owe you anything. I made the deal with your husban"
"Thank you for your kind words and great review."
"Thank you for the great review. It is a pleasure working for you."
"Let me first say there are two sides to every story. I have no interest in insulting Liecia D. as retaliation for her review therefore, I will stick with the facts as I tell our side. First of all she signed the contract on February 13, 2015 without first telling us that she did not have the payment that was required to bind the contract. Payment was delayed by 5 weeks. We waited patiently, never pressuring her for payment. Meanwhile, we accepted and began construction on other jobs. Payment was made on March 20th, at her convenience. The 90 day period of time for job completion, as stated in the contract, then became March 20th through June 18th, weather permitting, also stated in the contract. Out of that 90 day time period it rained 50 days. The job we were contracted to do was an addition so rain hindered the capability to complete the job in a speedy manner. We were fired by her on June 16th, reason given was that we were taking too long to complete the job. We tried to reason with her to reconsider, but had no success. We were more than willing to continue the job through completion. We felt that her firing us for the specified reason was a breach of contract, resorting back to the weather permitting clause. She then asked for all her money back but we had too much time and money in the job to enable us to meet her request. My husband seen the jobsite approximately two-and-a-half months later and she had not moved forward with construction. We are sorry that she feels that this was the worst experience she has ever had with a contract company but if she had a little patience with us, taking the bad weather conditions into consideration, like we had with her at the beginning of this business relationship we are very confident that she would have been very happy with the ending result, just as many, many, many customers have been. Customers who are unhappy are very quick to write a review and let the world know they are unhappy but customers who are pleased with the job and service they have received very seldom think to write a review and let others know. This is unfortunate for contractors like us that believe word of mouth from previous customers to be the best advertisement ever. Because we believe that we are not happy unless the customer is happy. We, too, are unhappy as to how this particular job ended but sincerely wish her the best moving forward."
"During the duration of the job we could not see eye-to-eye with this client on anything. She degraded our work and intelligence from the beginning. We tried very hard to complete the job, but once she told us that she wanted someone else to finish and we came to a place in the job where we felt both parties were on even ground, we pulled off the job. We did not keep any money for work that was not completed. There were 2 draws remaining by contract, one of which was due to be paid but we did not request payment. We are sorry that the job ended in this manner."
"On July 5, 2014 we lost our oldest son in a car accident due to a drunk driver. It took some time to work through losing him. We realize there is no excuse for bad customer service but hope that anyone reading this will take that into consideration. We sincerely apologize to Warren W. for the problems he faced. We have since worked hard to improve customer service and shorten response time. The one constant that has always stayed number one, and always will, is "Quality". We take pride in our work and go out of our way to please each and every customer."
