About us

Interior design is critical to turning a house into a home, transforming an ordinary room into an expression of who you are, and changing an "open house" into a sold sign. Creating a designer room is not like buying a designer dress; you do not want the style to reflect the designer, but rather the people using the space. I specialize in creating spaces that are an extension of you at an affordable price. My goal is to create an environment that expresses your personal style and addresses your needs. For many people the design process can be very stressful this is a perfect reason to hire a designer. Contrary to what most people believe, hiring an interior designer can help save you money and the risk of making a mistake. My knowledge and expertise prevents costly mistakes and I can work with any budget. Hiring a designer is also a huge time saver. I do all of the legwork for you. There are a variety of products out there in today's market, but which one works best in your space?

I worked with a decorator last year and she did exceptional work. I would have hired her again except for her candor. I hired Lauren Dahlinhaus per your sites recommendation, expecting the same outcome. I told her right off the bat that I was color blind, and in a wheelchair and cannot get out to look on my own and am horrible at decorating. I wanted my dining room redecorated to coordinate with the new decor in the great room. I had purchased new draperies and wanted wallpaper, a chandelier, pictures and accessories. I had a few lights picked out from Wayfair but needed help in choosing. First, she chose accessories, candleholders for the table, later I wanted to confirm they were glass, no, they're black. Then some tall candlesticks for the side table that, to me, looked like a blue black, no, they're black. Hmm, I should have known then. She brought a picture of some really awesome mirrors and I ordered them (without asking) . Later I asked if they were bronze, no, they're black yet again. I finally said I didn't think they would go and cancelled. She got upset (I have the texts) saying the lights I was looking at had black accents. Until she went to Wayfair and saw they were indeed bronze. Now, any designer would have looked at the room and (if the lights were actually black) told me since I have a bronze drapery rod that I should really go with a bronze light. I wanted the tall candlesticks powder coated a blue black ($50 at my expense) she chose a hideous royal blue! I about gagged! Now I just want this relationship over and told her to quit looking for anything else. Almost forgot about the vases that I returned that I'm sure she chose because of one being black. They not only were small but also did not match the decor at all so I'm out another $60 for returning fees. Even though I'm not good at decorating I definitely know when something doesn't look right and relied on her knowledge to choose items that would coordinate. Now the wallpaper, it was very expensive and more that I wanted to spend. She said I would need three rolls and that I would have a lot left over hesitant, because of the cost, but ordered anyway because I really wanted this over and done. The wallpaper came in and as I amm laying out the room trying to decide where to begin when I realized there isn't enough! When I told her she was upset that I would question her professionalism and brought another roll at my expense. Had I known I would have went with a different paper. She finally decided not to charge me after I reminded her that SHE talked me into papering above the chair rail and it was her mistake. The paper has lots of silver and it doesn't coordinate at all, I couldn't tell with the small sample but she should have known. Again, it was a huge screw up on her part. Finally to the chandelier, please note that I had researched chandelier lights on Wayfair so I was aware of the size needed for my 12' x 14' dining room with a 42" wide table (and assume
