Grit City Remodel

Jakecand his crew are great communicators, and paid attention to quality and detail. I felt super comfortable with them onsite, and they cleaned up after themselves.

After seeking out contractors for over a year we discovered Jake at Grit City Remodel. We invited him over to give us an estimate on a large project in the primary bedroom and adjoining hallway as well as a mid-sized project downstairs. Jake works with a talented designer, Miranda, who listened to what we wanted and developed renderings for the two projects. From these renderings alone, Jake was able to execute the vision that we had for both projects. The primary bedroom remodel consisted of removing the existing reach-in closets as well as joining two hallway closets together to create one room and open them into the primary bedroom via an arched entry. This created a walk-in closet for the primary bedroom. The reach-in closet space became a custom built in with an electric fireplace, hardwood bookshelf, and plenty of hidden storage behind (the old closet space) which is accessed trough a hidden doorway (who doesn't want a secret door in their home?). The project required the demolition of multiple walls, the building of new walls, and the custom built-in as well. The downstairs project did not require any demolition but brought its own challenges: custom floor level storage, electric wiring for the fireplace, TV, and AV equipment, etc. We wanted the same aesthetic as upstairs but not the same finish. Jake was able to pull it all together from Miranda's renderings through finish painting. Jake was on-site for all of the work and we've been so impressed that we're already planning his calendar for next year at our house!

Jake rebuilt our deck himself and is wonderful to work with â great communication and very trustworthy at a fair price. Highly recommend him!
