I am giving it 1 star as I have not heard from Sal in a few weeks. Once he pulled as much money out of the job as he could, he stopped sending his guys, and he also stopped returning my phone calls, text messages, and contacts on his company site. I have also reached out to people who referred me to him, but they have not heard from him. He collected his first payment in December, and the excuses for not getting back to me started shortly after. I will not air his numerous problems, but it became more of a therapy session than talking about the job. The job started in January and has not been completed as of mid-June. He never showed up to oversee any work just to collect money. I had to ask repeatedly for the guys to come and also ask repeatedly for material to show up. The pool plaster guy had to finish his coping. My wife and I finished his pillar caps (shout out to Jill for not losing it over this guy). I called in a guy to finish his Belgium block. Sal Lauro has left me with at least $8,000 of material to buy and who knows how much labor. His guys do great work, and I would be compassionate about all his family and emotional problems, but he has left me with an unfinished job and no reason why. Now I am trying to find someone to finish his job because he will not respond to me. I forgot to mention he added a few thousand to the bill towards the end, which I agreed to pay. I honestly do not know how my experience would be with another company, but Sal Lauro has been absolutely horrendous, and I would not trust a word that comes out of his mouth. If you decide to get an estimate from Sal, first ask him if he sorted out Jeff job, and after he lies to you, ask him for my number to confirm. I would be more than happy to tell you if he finished.

Lauro Landscaping built a custom fireplace as a addition to my existing patio. I provided a picture of a fireplace I liked that was made from different materials that didnâ t match my patio. I met with Sal and discussed materials and style, Sal assured me he could build it. My wife and I are so Happy with the finished results. The new fire place looks as though it was build with the original patio. In addition Sal also did beautiful stone veneer work on the fireplace, it really completes the look we were going for. Thanks so much to Sal and his hardworking crew.

Do NOT hire Sal Lauro from Matawan as a landscaper or landscape designer. He runs a horrible business and does not have enough experience to handle simple or complex jobs at your home. We just spent close to $10,000 with him for a job around our new pool that must now be completely removed, regraded, and re-landscape designed due to his poor work and lack of knowing how to redirect water with a drainage system. In addition to that he cannot figure out how much things will cost to complete a job, but he will randomly show up at your house looking for money. After he gets his down payment, he disappears for a few weeks until he is ready to show up with a crew to do work that takes WAY longer than expected, is poor in design, and in our case had to be fixed several times to fix his errors. We have now moved on to a new landscape designer to correct his poor work. Avoid him at all costs unless you enjoy throwing your money away.

I will tell you the owner will say he shows up and he does, but he wants more $ to fix damages, sorry, I rather go to someone who understands actual landscaping to fix our major problems. I would and never sent a bad review in my life. But after $50,000 + spend, be warned. We had a pool installed and hired sal the owner to provide pavers, landscaping, sitting walls. Well to start with the first series of issues, they put polymeric sand on our pavers -- and that same day forecast called for torrential rain, it left a mess all over our pavers - never fixed, or resanded...pavers were a very very different color then origially picked. Again the the rain storm -- the sitting wall they picked was holding back Clay Mud -- not actual soil ( be warned and as a home owner learn how BAD clay dirt is ) When it rained the rain could not seep through....and the clay made it all the way on to our pavers and into the pool , clogging all filters and causing over $2500 damage just for the pool . The pavers are ruined -- completely....our sittingwall and don't even get me started on the landscaping -- dead topiary's, dead box woods, mulch that is coming on to the deck. Sal doesnt do actual work -- he just comes up and calms you down from your erractic state of shock. OH my grass -- $7000 for top soil that washed away and now my entire yard is sand and crab grass.......I wish I could post pictures. Cost of damages so far 1. Rescape the land to prevent water $11,000 2. Rip out pavers $8500 3. Build up wall to prevent dirt/clay $2800 4. Pool damages $2500 5. Resoil entire 3000 sq foot yard $400/ truck load ( 15 trucks) If this guy came back and gave us half the money back -- we will remove the reviews for this horrid exp.

Sal Lauro responded promptly when I requested a proposal. When the first snowfall came he did a fantastic job clearing our property. He even followed up the next day to be sure the job was satisfactory. I would highly recommend Lauro for snow removal services. Ed Bowen, owner, RE/MAX Generations.

I Interviewed four landscapers. I met with Sal, the owner who was extremely helpful and eager to please. I had specific plantings I wanted for my new garden and he made sure I had them. He even brought me to the nursery to pick out what I wanted, twice! His staff was very polite and professional and they left my property every day like they were never there. He has great creative ideas. There a lot people out there that call themselves landscapers but they just know how to cut grass and plant shrubs. He went above and beyond and at what I feel was a reasonable price. When he said he would be at my house he showed up unlike so many that promise or don't deliver. The final product is amazing and I have exactly what I wanted and more. I highly recommend Lauro Landscaping. You will not be disappointed.
