Wood Fence Installation
Work quality was good enough , but when I was not able to reach company about incomplete work , I was left needing to complete the job myself or hiring another contractor .

Incompetent, Greedy, or Both Usually when I take the time to write a review, I keep it short and positive.  This will not be one of those times. My interactions with Tim Walsh of Legacy Windows left me feeling confused, distrustful, and bamboozled.   I am but a mere homeowner, so I request experts for big repairs such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, etc. and I sometimes turned to the Home Advisor app to assist with finding those experts.   In mid-December I discovered a stained ceiling in my laundry room.  Over the summer I had a roof repair to address a leak on another part of the ceiling, so I thought this must be a similar problem in a different area.  I reached out to the contractor that I used to repair the first leak, but he was not available to respond as quickly as I wanted.  I then turned to the Home Advisor app which generated several quick responses to my request.  I chose Legacy Windows.  Tim Walsh came to my home to assess the leak on 12/28/20.   Upon arrival, Tim approached my front door without wearing a mask.  I was wearing a mask when I answered the door.  I let it go, since my mask did not trigger a mask response from him because he would be working outside my home.   I walked him to my laundry room and pointed to the stained ceiling and explained to him that I was not sure were the leak was coming from but maybe it was the roof because I had a similar problem not too long ago.  Tim asked to go into the attic to look around and then he climbed on top of the roof to assess the situation.  Tim returned to me and announced that he had identified where the leak was coming from and he could repair the leak today.  When I asked about the cost, he quoted $1000 for parts and labor.  Because we were expecting heavy rain in two days, I agreed to the work and cost when he assured me that the roof repair would fix the leak.   Tim left to go get parts and when he returned the repair work took maybe a hour.  I was a little surprised that such a costly repair was completed so quickly.  I am not a roofer, so I did not know.   After telling me what a great company Legacy Windows was, Tim stressed that I would have a ten-year warranty on the roof repair.  When I ask about documentation to support that warranty, Tim wrote on the proposal sheet ?10- year warranty on repair 12/28/20? with his signature.  I wrote the $1000 check in good faith that Tim had repaired the leak which he indicated was caused by a lack of seal around a vent and boot.   My $1000 check cleared the bank on that same day, 12/28/2020.  On 12/29/20, the next day, I walked into my laundry room and there was a leak in the same area on the ceiling.  All in text communication? I relayed my concerns about continued leaking.  He questioned me and determined the leak was coming from inside the house and offered to return to repair for an additional cost.  When questioned about the work he had already did, he justified his work but admitted that if may not have been the source of the leak.  I explained that I didn't have an extra $1000 to fix things that were not causing a problem and I trusted that he was fixing what caused the leak. Obviously that is not what happened. Tim never picked up the phone to call me or offer an apology for ?getting it wrong?.   So, needless to say, I did not allow Tim to return to my home because I did not trust his intentions nor his abilities.   This situation left an unbelievably bad taste in my mouth.  I do not recommend Legacy Windows nor Tim Walsh.    My experience with this business and Tim Walsh?s business practices represent a level of incompetent or greed that homeowners fear when needing to trust an expert with a repair.  This experience has also cause me to question Home Advisors screening process for their so called experts. I am not sure if I will use the app again.
Response from Smart Renovations - Poetna Facebook
"Ms. Patterson, I am very sorry things did not go in your favor on this repair, but as I told you, I have certain values and integrity to uphold as a contractor and in my defense, there was a vent boot on your roof directly above the leak area that was installed backward and not sealed properly which was a 100% chance that could be an entry point for water, I replaced the vent boot, then installed flashing around it, then sealed it! I gave you a great deal on a very much needed repair, if it wasn't the cause of the leak that very day, then I assure you I saved you thousands of dollars in the near future on a much more costly leak."

I recently replaced my old aluminum "school bus" windows with new windows from Legacy Windows. The experience from start to finish was a breeze. The sales rep Tim,(super friendly and professional) came to my house to provide a free quote. He walked both in the inside and outside of the house. I am a first time window purchaser, but it will save you time and money if you think of both the view from the inside and the outside, especially if you are mixing and matching different window types. The windows arrived earlier than I expected, and install day was just that- one day. In a single day, the crew replaced all ten of my windows (many large ones). They were efficient, tidy, and professional. I love my new windows and the view they provide. They open and close so much easier than my old ones. I highly recommend Legacy Windows for their wonderful product and people!
