The owner is friendly, listens, and is fast to respond to my calls, to order materials needed, and to begin and finish work. The roof is nice and seems fine. However, they used an air gun to install my roof. This is a controversial method, as some say the nails should be hand-nailed to ensure proper placement every time. Air guns are fast, but may not ensure the proper placement of nails to be flush with the shingle, which could lessen its life and cause them to not remain in place which can obviously lessen the life of your roof. This was my observation and researched information. There were 2 damages to my property; one to my newly stained outdoor wooden railing from one crew throwing the old metal vent strip down off the roof onto it (as another crew member was standing right below who could have been handed it gently) which gouged it and created a big nick. The second damage is from the shingle delivery where the big truck put a hole in my grass near my side walk about 1 and 1/2 foot across and 6 inches deep exposing the edge of sidewalk, creating a tripping hazard as well. I pointed them out to my contractors, asking to fix them. They agreed to the next day, and never showed. It has been 1 week. Also, although they cleaned up the site, it was minimal. I ended up spending a couple of hours picking up many pieces of plastic, telflon tape, plastic coffee lid, food wrappers, baggies, nails, staples, pieces of shingle, other materials, food, wads of gum, and several cigarette butts all around my house from just 1 day of work. Some were even thrown into my shrubs which I had trimmed the next day and found. I also saw the old TV satellite was thrown down off the roof onto my yard instead of handed down, creating 3 more gouges and holes into my yard. I detail and landscape and pay for lawn service every year, and it truly is disheartening to have these damages done and then overlooked by professionals. I wanted to hire them again for MANY more projects for the house, but after these things, I probably will not. They were paid in full before fixing the damages. I was always told contractors MUST not damage anything, and if they do, they are to restore and fix to original condition. That is why they have license and insurance too - to ensure customers they are safe from the harms that can happen if they even do. Contractors are to leave your property in the state in which it was found (besides the obvious improvement your paid them for to begin with). They were friendly and fast, but I have been asked for an honest review. I would be lying if I did not put all of this into my review. This is a great opportunity for the business to learn from and make improvements. Thank you.
