About us
Vibha Hutchins was born and raised in Bombay, India. She moved to New York City in 1980 to advance her education and experience in her field of Interior Design. She graduated with honors from Pratt Institute with a Masters Degree in Interior Design in 1983. She then resumed work as a designer with several high profile Manhattan Architectural and Interior Design firms including Edward Durrel Stone, Stuart Mager, Conti Grappo and the legendary firm of Dorothy Draper and Company. At Dorothy Draper, Vibha managed projects for exclusive clientele such as the Grand Hotel in Mackinaw Island, MI. and the Greenbriar Hotel in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia. In short time she was promoted to the director of design for the Caribbean. She was responsible for hotels and substantial residences in Anguilla, Virgin Gorda, St. Croix and other Islands. Her work on Villa Madeleine in St. Croix was featured on the front cover of Architectural Digest. In 1990 Vibha retired from this firm and set up practice in St. Croix Virgin Islands, undertaking hotels and fantastic getaway homes from St. Lucia to Palm Beach. In the early 90s Vibha initiated another practice in Jacksonville, Florida and made that her headquarters in 1994. The Jacksonville office is a diverse Interior Design practice covering all sections of work with an emphasis on hospitality, residential and corporate interiors. The practice also boasts a 2500 square foot furniture and accessories showroom, overflowing with exotic and intriguing pieces from all over the world. Vibha personally sources her inventory on frequent purchasing trips to Asia and affords her customers unparalleled access and support to the purchase of these unique treasures on the strength of knowledge and working network in her homeland and neighboring regions. Vibha's work in the Jacksonville area has ranged from spectacular oceanfront homes to the complete interior design and exterior finish of a corporate jet. Vibhas work has been published in Architectural Digest, Florida Design, Waters Edge, Jacksonville Magazine and numerous other international, national, and local periodicals. Vibhas multiple entries in the Jacksonville Symphonys Showcase Homes have consistently appeared in media coverage as representing the premier work for the event. Vibha has authored several design articles and informative pieces, holds workshops in her studio on a regular basis and has been invited to speak to a number of organizations on the topic of Interior Design. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and is very active in the ASID North Florida Chapter affairs. Vibhas extraordinary background and training coupled with her enthusiasm for her art have led to a pattern of incomparable projects and delighted clients that have made Vibha their permanent design consultant.
