Garage Door Installation and Replacement
Save yourself the time - DO NOT HIRE these guys! We actually purchased our door through Home Depot and unfortunately, LIGHTHOUSE door company is who they contracted/sent us. The first sign of trouble should have been when Eric tried to charge me to dispose of the old door claiming to home depot there would be an additional charge to dispose of a door built in the 70s. Our old garage door was installed in 2004 and I had to prove it to home depot. The biggest issue is that after three months of waiting, I have an expensive **custom made** garage door with a new 2-inch gap from the floor to the bottom of the door. A small cat could fit under it. Eric is was so unprofessional and rude and not only was I left with a HUGE GAPING GAP, the installer left nails/staples all over our clean garage and we have small dogs.

"Lydia I am sorry you are not happy with your garage door. As I explained to you we are only hired by Home Depot to install the garage door you purchased from them. Your concrete floor has a huge hump in the middle. Even your old door did not sit on the floor tight on left and right side. If you thought Home Depot was going to fix your concrete floor that is something you would need to discuss with them, Since concrete is not in our scope of work. As for the disposal of your old door, Since your Home was built before 1978 we have to follow the EPA lead laws and properly remove and dispose, Unless the homeowner can prove that either it has been properly tested and has no lead exist or proof that the existing door was installed after 1978. Which is what you did and that is why the charge was taken off. I really am sorry we were unable to satisfy you and I have passed your complaint onto Home Depot. They should be reaching out to you very soon."

They are expensive but it is worth it because of their work quality and install experience. You pay enough so they don't have to rip you off to make their margins. They do a bit of salesman puffery. Promise a little more about the product and service than the actual experience. But not so severe that I wouldn't do business with them again.

We had an emergency; our garage door spring broke and we could not even get into our garage by manually lifting the door. Lighthouse Door Company called before arriving to confirm the appointment, showed up at the exact time promised and did a quick efficient repair. My husband and I will recommend them to all of our friends.

AAA+ I had a problem that the manufacturer could not seem to resolve after weeks of back and forth. Monica took my call, booked an appointment for later in the week and Eric showed up promptly as scheduled. He had the repair done in literally minutes, checked and adjusted the other components. He even replaced my old remotes at a price comparable to eBay or a big box home store. I would not hesitate to recommend LDC.

After comparing several contractors, we settled on Lighthouse Doors. They were significantly less expensive that the others we contacted, but the product and service were of the highest order.
