Lilac Awning

Do not use this company! I placed an order in June 2021. I gave a $2200 down payment (which was cashed). The awning was supposed to be installed in 4-6 weeks. Nearly 10 months later- no awning. Greg is impossible to get a hold of. Took him to Small Claims Court and the judge ruled in my favor. He has ignored all court correspondence. Still has my deposit!

Ratings are based on project not being started one month to the date the work should have been completed. The value of the project has no worth at this date and time. Extremely disappointed.

I hired Greg in March his contract stated 6 - 8 weeks for completion. This included a couple other projects and a metal awning over my 40à ¢à  à  deckà ¢à  à ¦.with curtains. Projects should have been completed mid May. I fired him mid July. The awning hadnà ¢à  à  t been started yet. However, they delivered the metal and framing. The metal was spray painted. I finally had this material removed from deck floor yesterday. The paint was peeling and lots of green showing. They spray painted light brown over dark green. Horrible!! Also, when moving the aluminum frame the weld snapped. Horrible welding job. If they had installed this à ¢à  à  awningà ¢à  à  it could have caused some serious damage to person or property. When I told him to come pick up his material he never responded. We were told by his employee a couple days later that it was ours. What do I do with metal that wouldnà ¢à  à  t be fit for a chicken coop (IMO) and framing that snaps. Also, they show up on job when they wantà ¢à  à ¦usually early to mid afternoon and work until 11:00 pm or midnight. They were informed that was unsuitable but obviously they didnà ¢à  à  t care. From mid March to mid July they were here a total of 7 timesà ¢à  à ¦.and awning not started. Also, they couldnà ¢à  à  t find curtainsà ¢à  à ¦ although it was stated that they were being sewn, then 2 weeks later stated Greg couldnà ¢à  à  t find the right color curtainsà ¢à  à ¦(brown). Seems like we were told weekly that they will à ¢à  à  definitelyà ¢à  à  be here later in the week. We heard that more times than they actually showed up. Called Greg a couple times (when he wouldnà ¢à  à  t respond to text messages) and he didnà ¢à  à  t answer but couldnà ¢à  à  t leave voice message because mailbox was full. Would I recommend Lilac Awning? NOOOOOO!!

I had a similar experience with Greg. It ended up being a nightmare and he was very belligerent. Everything s coronavirus when he could not get us what we were supposed to have. I asked for a refund and he said he did not have the money which by law they have to do and keep in a separate account. I ended up getting a lawyer and there was going to be a court date when he finally came up with the awning. The amount of money we paid he should have done somersaults. I do agree he has tendencies towards being a con artist. I would not use them again. I was gracious and canceled the court date giving him a chance to put it in and do what he said rather than take him to court and he finally did it from 10:00 at night to one in the morning as ridiculous as that sounds. True story The part I do not understand is does not he care about his name? After a while everybody around Monroe county is going to know how he is I guess he just does not care. Not sure all the good reviews are authentic. Hard to believe he could be such a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde but maybe he picks and chooses who he is going to do it to we were pretty nice to him when we met him so often times those are the ones they use. Whatever the case I wont be using it again

Greg is a con artist. I had to chase him to get any work done. He dug three holes in my yard and then dodged my calls and messages for weeks. Empty promise after empty promise. Do not hire him.

Do not use this company. We are still in the middle of a night mare transaction with Greg. Extremely unprofessional and not at all trust worthy

Highly recommend! The previous contractors we hired to install the awning said they knew what they were doing, took our money and never came back to fix the issue or finish the job. Greg and Scott quoted us fairly, came when they said they would and fixed the problem. Now we have a retractable awning that works properly! I'm glad we were in their service area, since we couldn't find anyone in Syracuse to do the work.

Greg from Lilac in Rochester is very polite and helpful making the appointment. Scott and his crew did a great job. Scott is very knowledgeable and experienced.

I was extremely pleased with the service I received. Greg came to our home on Saturday and installed two new arms on my awning. His knowledge and his professionalism truly impressed me, and I felt very Comfortable with his courteous manner. Would highly recommend this company!!ð ð »
