Write a ReviewTook a bit of time to schedule because of worker sickness, but they did a great job.
I wish I had checked Angi first and found this company when my gas fireplace stopped working. The first company I hired charged me almost twice what Refiner's did, and did a terrible job leaving it broken, and wanting $1600 more to fix it! RFS was hired for a second opinion. So glad I did! Kevin from RFS came out, fixed the issues and had it working fine within a 1/2 hr. for no additional charge than the service call. I highly recommend Kevin and this company! Excellent communication with their office as well.
When I hired Refiners fire place, they told me that they would charge me $275 for the labor + cost of the parts based on the actual prices. When I asked for the receipt for the parts, they refused to send me the receipts and they charged an exorbitant price for the parts. Finally, after several E-mails and messages, they only sent me the parts number. When I compared the prices that you can get for the same parts in Amazon, I found that they charged >100% mark-up. I requested them to put a reasonable 30% - 40% markup, they refused and threatened me with legal action. The quality of the labor also was substandard. The technician is supposed to clean the fire place, but he didn't clean at all. In the future, if you hire, please ask for the price of the parts and agree on the mark-up terms before starting the job.
Kevin is responsive and efficient. Highly recommend.

If you're having a pellet stove installed, make sure you have a owners manual (I didn't have one) so the service man can see what needs to be done! Didi a good job and seemed to know what he was doing. But unfortunately couldn't connect the thermostat as he said "There's no connection on the stove." Later contacted the stove's company and they told me where the connection was on the stove .Doesn't really matter as the stove can be started alternately via a side electronics panel.
They got me in as quickly as possible, cleaned and repaired my fireplace in one visit, and it has been working well since. There was a bit of burn off of the cleaning agents, but that dissipated in a couple weeks. Great friendly service.
They were great on all levels. They installed a new wood stove. They were timely, did a great job on the install and were very nice to work with.
We have an older Gas Fireplace Insert. Not sure how old, but probably over 20 years. Also, it did not have any model number plate or sticker, so all we had was a brand name. FFS, had to make several visits and take a number of photos to be able to track down the correct parts that needed replacing. Also, had to pretty much completely take the interior of the stove, apart, to be able to remove the old parts and replace with the new. Got it all done and working great, again!!!
