Local Handyman St. Louis

Title: Premium price charged ($2,200) for basic trim-capping instead of replacement of all wood surrounding the door as requested; door is no longer easy to lock or unlock. I hired Local Handyman-St. Louis (167 Lamp and Lantern Village, #129, Chesterfield, MO 63017) to handle the wood surrounding my front door and sidelights, paying $2,200. I requested and expected a full removal and replacement of the wood surrounding the door with PVC. Instead, the company performed a lower-tier "capping" service, nailing thin PVC pieces directly over the existing wood. The merchant later confirmed in writing that structural framing and jambs were entirely excluded from their work, despite charging a price point that represents a full system replacement in the St. Louis market. Furthermore, the workmanship left the front door weather-stripping misaligned and initially highly difficult to lock. My roofers dropped a harness through the ridge of 1.7 million dollar house resulting in an impact mark on the heavily textured ceiling. It would have cost me 20k to fix the drywall and paint the ceiling including scaffolding. Greg with Local Handyman came in and was totally professional, when he was done you could not even see there was ever damage there. He saved me over 19 plus k. The homeowner would not stop talking about how professional Greg was and I agreed. When I spoke to the owners of Handyman I told them what the homeowner said and I told them how I felt the same. I’m a General Contractor and I have them doing two jobs for me, one this Thursday and the next one is scheduled for next Monday. If you want someone who knows how to do the work you need, will treat you with respect, and transparency Local Handyman is the company to hire. Like I said I’m a General Contractor and they will continue to work for me when I can use there services!

Very friendly and knowledgeable crew that showed up on time and got the work done efficiently. Had outdoor handrail installed, bathroom cabinet over toilet, 2 story curtains & sheets hung, bidet installed, grab bars in shower.

I had Local Handyman help me with a long list of “to do’s” I had been avoiding. They helped me with multiple interior and exterior projects. Their communication from beginning to end was fabulous. They helped me evaluate the scope of the work against other bids I received. Their work was professional, their men arrived on time and they completed everything in a timely and quality manner. I will hire them again.

We were delighted with the service that we received. The owner Nicki gave us a detailed estimate and listed everything that was going to happen. The work was done as agreed upon. The two workmen, Dan and Greg, were very expert in their execution and very courteous. I highly recommend them.

I hired Local Handyman to replace my sliding glass door. The techs that installed it were well-versed and detailed oriented, They worked in very cold weather, too, not an easy part of the job. I would hire them again for other home improvement projects.

I cannot say enough good things about this business! We received service within a week and used them for 3 different houses. The people they sent were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Colton was especially helpful. The charges were reasonable and the scheduler, Nikki is so helpful and flexible. We definitely will be using them again!
