About us
London Sweeps Chimney Sweeps, LLC, is a family owned & operated business since 1978. When my Father started this business, there were only several other companies doing chimney cleaning and repairs and now, there are over 40 companies competing for your business. Over the years I have noticed a trend in this industry with companies trying to sell expensive chimney re-lining when it is not necessary. In Fact, 7 out of every 10 chimneys I inspect for my clients after two other companies have said they have needed costly repairs do not require a re-lign. Some of these bigger companies that have expensive Yellow Page ads, have to pay for all that overhead and you can bet they will find something wrong with your chimney, so be careful of "Free Estimates". Also, their employess work on commissions. When you use our Company you will educated on your chimney and will have fast, HONEST service! We also offer qualified Home Inspection services.

"I made it clear to the client that due to my unfortunate ailments and lack of help, that I would try to perform an inspection on their chimney to the best of my abilities in my current situation. I schedule all my appointments for over 20 years. I have always asked the client if they have a Open wood burning fireplace or if it is a Woodstove so I can come prepared. I was informed of no woodstove and thus felt deflated upon my arrival. Not because I felt pity for myself but more so for my client for which I felt I would not be able to offer a detailed inspection. I performed a camera inspection, and cleaned up even bringing my vacuum in and specifically told the client I did not want payment. They insisted on paying me the 75.00 payment. I guess to justify a bad review and rating."
"We believe anyone can expect to pay $100.00 for a service call. And that could just be to troubleshoot an issue. not the actual work. When we arrived, the customers gas log fireplace was not working at all. We found loose wires on the wall switch plate to turn on the logs, as well as loose wires on the Pilot Control valve. We tightened both wires at the switch plate and the pilot control valve and tested operation of the gas logs. The gas logs were working fine when we left the customers home. Customers should be aware there are costs associated with operating a "Service Business" such as ours. We have Liability insurance to pay both on our Business and our Service vehicles. We have Trade Associated costs such as training, licenses, and fees we have to pay for these Homeadvisor referrals. There are employee salaries and gas for our vehicle we have to pay to show up at the front door. There is very little profit margin even on a $100.00 service call. We have been in business for over 38 years and feel we are fair with all our customers."
"In Our 37 years in business, we make every effort to provide the best services for our customers. We enter our busy season in September and at the time we scheduled the above clients initial appointment, we had a three week lead time. After completing our original appointment and service, there were recommended repairs and the customer elected to schedule them. Again, we were already booked through the remainder of the month. We scheduled the repair work for the 2nd of December. We regret that sometimes, due to weather, we are unable to affect such scheduled repairs. The day of the clients appointment, it rained making for unsafe working"
"I strive to be fair with all my customers. I encourage readers to see my service magic rating and reviews. The amount quoted did not take into account a Special Order stainless steel cap and I discounted the cement crown 50 dollars. We helped the customer install gutters on the back side portion of his home while we where there and I did not charge for caulking around the stove. I completed the job with costs under market value."
