We were given a very fair price upfront for our chimney sweep. Most companies say $89...but then you have to pay 15-20 per foot over a certain amount, so you end up with a $400 bill. This company charged $165 flat. The work was done well, in a timely manner, and he left the place clean. He also took the time to explain what he did, and tips to help reduce buildup in the future.

Great Company. Excellent Customer Service. The Technician was very detailed and let me know everything along the way. I had a list of questions before they arrived and he answered every question without me having to ask! I m currently sitting with my feet in front of my fireplace as I sip my coffee on this chilly morning and I LOVE IT!!

I asked this company to perform a chimney inspection. When the technician arrived, he immediately launched into excuses about how his helper had walked out on him, and he was so rushed, and he was losing thousands of dollars, etc. I asked him to inspect the chimney anyway. He wanted to see the firebox, which was reasonable. When he saw a woodstove, he screamed bloody murder about how he'd been tricked because we didn't tell him that we had a woodstove. I said he didn't ask and besides I needed him to get up on top of the chimney, insert his camera down into the chimney and tell me what shape my flue was in. He then spewed forth a litany of health problems and "I don't climb no ladders" because he is too old and sick to do so. He claimed he performed all his inspections from the firebox up. We've had these inspections performed over the years by several different companies, and all technicians inserted a camera down from the TOP and made us a video tape for us to determine if our flue was safe to use. NOT this guy! We then said he was free to leave since he couldn't perform this inspection for us, so then he started hopping around on one foot and the other, "Oh, lemme see what I can do to help you, etc." He took off the bottom of the stove pipe to much swearing and foul language until my wife came in and asked what his problem was? Well, she got two earfuls of health problems, money problems, all sort of problems, other than solving the one we had hired him for! After messing around with the stove pipe and spilling ashes all over the place, he said, "Well, I guess I'll have to go get my vacuum cleaner and clean this mess up. Boy, I'm not making a cent on this job!" Both my wife and I offered to even pay him (Just to get him out of our home, but again, "I'll see what I can do for you.") He finally gets something that looks like a camera to attach to a wire snake of some kind and then lets out another wail of how he left his computer at home and wouldn't be able to use his equipment, etc. Then, he had the audacity to add, "I didn't know I was going to have to perform no inspection," which of course he didn't. Out of desperation to get him out of our home, I paid him his $75 inspection fee. What a burn!

    Response from Company:

I made it clear to the client that due to my unfortunate ailments and lack of help, that I would try to perform an inspection on their chimney to the best of my abilities in my current situation. I schedule all my appointments for over 20 years. I have always asked the client if they have a Open wood burning fireplace or if it is a Woodstove so I can come prepared. I was informed of no woodstove and thus felt deflated upon my arrival. Not because I felt pity for myself but more so for my client for which I felt I would not be able to offer a detailed inspection. I performed a camera inspection, and cleaned up even bringing my vacuum in and specifically told the client I did not want payment. They insisted on paying me the 75.00 payment. I guess to justify a bad review and rating.

These guys were great. They knew I was working on a budget and did the work for their original quote. I will be using them in the future for chimney services. My chimney was apparently filthy and they cleaned it completely. I will do better now thanks to the knowledge bestowed upon me by Eric the owner.

Mr. Blackwell took my appointment in such a short notice. They were running a little late, but notified me. He inspected our fireplace and vent. We were happy with his service.
