Lone star trucking and excavation

The team did a great job doing partial demolition of our old defunct swimming pool, including working with our neighbors on the fence work, and giving us a new backyard to landscape. Best bid we received from several contractors.

We did our due diligence before hiring Lonestar. Everything checked out, good ratings and references so we contracted them to remove our pool. They were not the lowest bid but we wanted to make sure the job was done right. They were great to work with and we were pleased with the job they did removing our pool. Our irrigation system was totally torn up and our internet cable was cut which we understood could happen so no problem. We have a white vinyl fence and they broke three of the panels off and they used twine to tie them back up. We figured OK things happen and did not make a big thing of it. They started work on a Thursday and finished Saturday. Later that day we had a storm come through and got a call from our neighbors. They were seeing a lot of water in their backyard threatening to come in their house and we are of course alarming. They went out to check and their 7,000 retaining wall was totally cracked and ruined. The damage is directly below the three fence panels Lonestar broke. Carmelo was in charge of the demolition and *before* any work got started he noticed we had a retaining wall out front and asked if it went all the way back. We informed them the wall in the back is our neighbors and on their property so he asked permission to see it. Entry was given by neighbors and Carmelo inspected it at that time. After contacting Lonestar (Crystal) three times about the damage I got no response until I threatened to stop payment on check till this was resolved. She assured me it would be taken care of the next morning. Crystal and Carmelo came out the next evening at 5 pm and argued for 25 minutes with us and our neighbors that it was not their responsibility or fault. Nothing in their disclaimer on contract dissolved their responsibility for something like this. They finally said OK their big machines did cause the damage to the wall and they would fix it *when they get around to it. That they were very busy with new work and had no idea when they could get to it.* It has been several weeks and nothing. Both our homeowners insurances are now involved and it is a nightmare that they created. We should not have to have insurance companies going to battle with them to fix their mistake. Things happen, own up to it, take responsibility and do the right thing. Obviously, they are not the type of company that stands behind their work. So BIG heads up if you hire them.

Excellent in every respect

they did the work on time with professional spirit ad skill. However they damaged a gate and did not repair it leaving me with $1000 in repairs. Otherwise they were perfect.

Lone Star did a great job removing our pool, filling it in and pouring the concrete We now have a beautiful patio. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they were to work with and the quality of the work they did. They made sure to do everything to our complete satisfaction. We would definitely hire them again.
